Wayward Pines is in discussions for a second season. But due to being filmed back in 2013 and the cast all having moved on, it may prove to be difficult.
?? Thought it was only supposed to be a one-season show based on all three books? Where would it go for a second season? Stupid idea!

Why did it take so long to be broadcast?

I agree with your agreement

Really needs to be a one and done. After the big twist, they really can't go anywhere with the story unless they go down 'Under The Dome' territory and create a whole new mythology and backstory to the idea - something like the fact that they aren't really in the future at all.

But with the show being long in the can, they'd probably have to go back and re-film the ending if they did i suppose.

It was flmed in 2013 and it was originally meant to be aired Autumn 2014, but for some reason and i don't know why Fox pushed it back to Summer 2015. I think a 'global broadcast' might have been one of the reasons. It was filmed 2 years ago though, so obv. the cast has now moved on as for them this was a one-off series.

Now there's talk of season 2 and no new books have been written because everything ended in the books.

Fox - they never learn.

American Odyssey cancelled

SKY 1 have picked up new summer series Zoo. No air date yet.
Netflix US have signed an exclusive 1 million per episode deal to air Zoo once the season has finished on television. I think this netflix deal could give Zoo a second season. It was AMAZON PRIME's deal with Extant that saved it for a second season.

Well, I'm sorry they've cancelled American Odyssey, as I really enjoyed it.

I know that the decision has been decided most likely due to the viewing ratings, but it's a great pity. It had a great ending that gave promise of more to come.

Wow, that's a lot of money (and a lot of confidence) for a programme that hasn't aired yet (or hadn't at the time the deal was agreed)!!!

I can imagine Netflix had advance viewings of the show and were very impressed.

I don't know why, I have seen the pilot and found it distinctly average. Anyone else seen it?

Good news about Suits, although I'm surprised they have done it so early into season 5.

I just hope they up the humour level.

12 more episodes needed to reach the traditional 88 required for syndication, meaning it probably makes more financial sense to renew the show, even if it tanks this season.

Perhaps they've given it the order early, to give the writers time to come up with satisfactory ending, and are viewing the sixth season as the show's last. Aaron Korsh (Suits creator) has another show in development at USA, so perhaps they want him to focus on that.

That makes sense. I hope the writers don't get lazy now they know they have another season confirmed.

We can never have enough of Donna

I suppose it depends on how much of Season 5 is in the can, but I'd ideally like to see them plan a story that could span S5 and S6.

The two lead actors from Hannibal have been released from their contracts. This now means they are free to do other things and a season 4 is less likely.

I'd say with that decision, Season 4 is not likely at all now. With Bryan Fuller committed to another show for Starz, they'd either have to wait for him or get another show runner, as well as hoping Dancy and Mikkelsen wait around for any decision on S4 as well.

What? Community had a month or two between when the show was cancelled and when contracts expired. (We know this because it was publicly confirmed Yahoo! renewed the show the day the contracts were due to expire - and I'm not sure, but I think it even went down to the last hour.)

Guess their contracts can't have been too tight to begin with, if that's the case...

AD: The Bible Continues has been cancelled
I know it was a one off series but it had an option to continue for more seasons to explore other areas of the bible.

Obviously the interest in the show is absent in this thread.
