It's difficult to know if the ratings were good or not. It's a Canadian show and I do not know how canadian ratings work.

I gave up on this after two eps, awful show, very surprised it got a second season(probably did because Netflix is involved). I certainly won't be watching it.
It's a Canadian show, the explains every thing.
But TBH some of my fave shows have been Canadian shows, such as 'The Listener'. 'Being Erica' and 'ReGenesis'.
