so glad the mentalist has been renewed, that was probably the only show I care about enough that I was genuinely worried about

Really worried for CSI: NY! Come on CBS, this show deserves to continue...

I like Vegas so I hope that gets renewed as well as CSI NY.

Of all the rest only watch Blue Bloods and Elementary so happy they have been renewed.

Stopped watching NCIS LA after about 7 episodes of series one and CSI lost track/interest soon after Ted Danson joined the cast and have never ever watched any of the others.

Only one of Vegas or CSI:NY can be saved and most likely both are cancelled. CBS need space for their pilots / new shows. They already have NCIS:Red coming. Another NCIS spinoff which was just launched in a NCIS:LA crossover just screened in the US so will be on Sky soon.

Hawaii Five-0 as well.

Hawaii 5-0 was a certain renewal as will give them 4 seasons so enough for syndication and its CBS owned, so they own the syndication pot of gold at the end.

This also means with Person of Interest getting renewed for a 3rd it is certain to get a 4th as a CBS owned show to get enough episodes for syndication.

I'm happy to hear that, too, as I'd heard the numbers on it had plummeted. Kinda hoping they don't continue to drip feed us and drag the Red John thing on and on, though...

I can't believe that 'The Neibours' isn't certain for renewal yet.

It is one of the best comedies in ages and really deserves to be renewed.

It's a shame 'Body Of Proof' may be cancelled.

I like the cast but the stories have been very 'meh' so far. It doesn't really have an edge.

I can't believe 'Happy Endings' may be cancelled. It is a very funny comedy with a great cast. The channel treated it really poorly.

Vegas has been renewed.
Not true. And its ratings in the age 18-49 demo are bad enough that it really has no chance of avoiding cancellation.

Someone who knows what they are talking about.

You are quite right, as a general rule if a CBS owned and produced programme completes a 3rd season it’s just about guaranteed to get commissioned for a 4th so that it makes an appealing syndication deal. Having approximately 100 episodes (4 seasons worth) of a programme means cable networks can ‘strip’ the programme daily in their schedules.

CBS already has a syndication deal with TNT for Hawaii Five-O, so a 4th season will optimise it’s value to them in the long term.
To be brutally honest this ‘rule’ was the only hope Hawaii Five-O had of getting a 4th season late last year, but since then the ratings have improved and it would probably have gotten a re-newel on ratings alone by now.

This ‘rule’ is also why Blue Bloods has been commissioned for a 4th season. It’s ratings aren’t great and if it wasn’t for this I’m not convinced it would have been re-newed.

Then look at Veags, ratings aren’t great and it’s only in it’s first season, making a more likely victim of the axe.

I think you'll find it has been renewed.

Link

And that was announced over a week ago.
You are talking about 'CSI' - Vegas version.
We are talking about 'Vegas'.

No problem. Your confusion was good for a giggle, and I don't mean that in a mocking way.

Hehe, glad I made you laugh then!

I'm hoping CSI:NY comes back, but tbh I think it wont.

Although the future of Two and a Half Men is technically ‘undecided’ I wouldn’t classify it in the same group as the likes of Vegas, Rules of Engagement and CSI:NY.

Two and a Half Men’s ratings are very good, the only thing stopping a renewal is CBS not yet agreeing a deal with Warner Bros, and Warner Bros not yet agreeing a deal with the actors.
