I can't believe they renewed Zoo. I hope they focus more on animal attack situations rather than conspiracy stuff.

It's been renewed because the ratings warrant it.

As far as I can ascertain it's been a hit summer show.

I know you really don't like it, but I do so I'm happy.

Chasing Life has been cancelled after two seasons. Not shocked. It was never a ratings winner, but somehow got a second season.

I do know it was because of the ratings. It certainly wasn't because of the quality.

Not technically a cancel/renewal, but there might be a Strike Back film in development......

Marvel Comics ‘Damage Control’ is to be adapted as a comedy TV series by ABC.

It follows the clean up crew of the Marvel Universe that specialise in dealing with the aftermath of the fallouts from the superhero conflicts.

Link.

It certainly crapped over the supposed to be canon S10/S11 comic, which is likely 100% non-canon now. Just waiting for more live-action Buffy to un-canon the canon comics now.

Is there a reason that Buffy has not been followed up in some way? Is it the cast against it or committed elsewhere? With Joss Whedon's movie success you would have thought some TV network would be keen on a Buffyverse revival as it remains a popular modern classic and spawned endless vampire show copycats. None as well developed as Buffy.

I am glad Buffy hasn't or isn't in consideration for being revived. It was fine where it was. I do think Angel could comeback though. It was cancelled and although they had time to work on a series finale, it was open ended. Angel had at least another two seasons in it. Or at least a new show connected to the buffyverse. But Joss Whedon is too obsessed with comic book heroes these days. Forgetting his own original creations.

A faith spin-off was in the works but Eliza Dushku declined and did Tru Calling.
A willow tv movie was considered
A spike tv movie was considered

A giles spin-off was considered and was very close to hapenning. It was called Ripper and would of been centred on Giles returning to England. Apparently a script was written and Anthony Head and Joss had meetings about it and everything. But it never happened, but Anthony said in an interview recently that he is still up for it.

Just watched a few episodes of Zoo. It's total nonsense. Even in shows I don't like, i can always find something good about them. I found none for Zoo. Oh well. Saves me room on my v plus box.

Of the new pilots, Limitless is probably the best of a not so good a bunch this season so far. It's early days to see how well all the other dramas will fare. I tried watching Minority Report (never seen the film), didn't last 20 minutes before I switched off. Honestly, that cop interacting with the computer and the hand/arms swivels, it was like watching an unfunny take of Marcel Marceau.

If Joss Whedon's success with The Avengers franchise were to open up the door for a Buffy revival of some description then it wouldn't have been able to really go into development until now. Whedon has spoken at length about how difficult he found the whole production for both Avengers films but particularly the sequel. He simply wouldn't have had the time or energy to write or even produce a Buffy revival and the idea of doing it without him wouldn't have gotten off the ground. Plus even if he'd wanted to his deal with Marvel almost certainly would have stopped him.

Prior to The Avengers I'm not sure how much interest there would have been from networks about it and getting the cast would have been tricky. They've either been committed to other projects or simply not interested in returning to the project or not a big enough name/character to carry a series. Its worth remembering that the series star was publicly very ready to move on by the time Buffy came to an end. It should also be noted that for a while there has been a Buffy reboot film of some description in various forms of development (without Whedon) which would have stopped a revival in its tracks.

In truth I don't think Whedon would have much interest in a Buffy revival at this point (he seems more than happy with the comic s and couldn't really replicate or continue what they're doing on TV). If he were to use whatever post-Avengers clout he might have to revive an old project it would almost certainly be Firefly related.

Really? I was not at all a fan of the Limitless pilot and what I've seen of the series that follows hasn't changed my mind on that.

Of the shows that have aired I think Quantico is by far the best pilot. I thought the Blindspot pilot was hit and miss but its really pleasantly surprised me with the episodes that followed and I'd be tempted to lean toward that as the strongest new drama to date. There's some good stuff to debut though.

Re: Joss Whedon. After Age of Ultron, he did say he was taking some down time to rejuvenate his creative juices. Making the film pretty much took a lot out of him. Brining back Buffy seems a retrospective step to take. Also, I think waiting to see how successful these comeback reboots really are will be worthy thought and whether there is anything new to say or do with Buffy. If not, why bother? Smacks of jumping on the revival bandwagon for no justifiable creative and commerical reason whatsoever.

Re: Limitless. Just to add to my post which I didn't make clear. I'm not overly amoured with most of the pilots this season. So when I say Limitless is, for me, the best of a no very good bunch of pilots, I'm saying that from a very low base of being impressed.

I spoke to my brother who is a lot more nicer than me and he did say I should probably give at least 5 episodes on each show before writing them off. And he is right. So I take your point, Alex. I'm hard person to please when it comes to books, films, tv shows unfortunately but only if what I see seems or feels like it been done before in various guises (that's my defence anyway!). And that's why I don't rate this seaosn's pilot shows that much: they look and feel so "been there, done that". There doesn't seem to be anything new or different about them that hasn't already been done before.

For me, Zoo has turned out like Dark Matter, another slow burner series that started out poor but had just enough to hold my interest and then started improving, though of course I respect the opinion of others regarding their perception of it.

Halt and Catch Fire and Tyrant both renewed for a third season

Very shocked at Tyrant as it is one of FX's lowest rated shows and it's far from popular with critics.
