He simply wouldn't have had the time or energy to write or even produce a Buffy revival and the idea of doing it without him wouldn't have gotten off the ground. Plus even if he'd wanted to his deal with Marvel almost certainly would have stopped him.
Prior to The Avengers I'm not sure how much interest there would have been from networks about it and getting the cast would have been tricky. They've either been committed to other projects or simply not interested in returning to the project or not a big enough name/character to carry a series. Its worth remembering that the series star was publicly very ready to move on by the time Buffy came to an end. It should also be noted that for a while there has been a Buffy reboot film of some description in various forms of development (without Whedon) which would have stopped a revival in its tracks.
In truth I don't think Whedon would have much interest in a Buffy revival at this point (he seems more than happy with the comic s and couldn't really replicate or continue what they're doing on TV). If he were to use whatever post-Avengers clout he might have to revive an old project it would almost certainly be Firefly related.
Really? I was not at all a fan of the Limitless pilot and what I've seen of the series that follows hasn't changed my mind on that.
Of the shows that have aired I think Quantico is by far the best pilot. I thought the Blindspot pilot was hit and miss but its really pleasantly surprised me with the episodes that followed and I'd be tempted to lean toward that as the strongest new drama to date. There's some good stuff to debut though.”
Re: Joss Whedon. After
Age of Ultron, he did say he was taking some down time to rejuvenate his creative juices. Making the film pretty much took a lot out of him. Brining back Buffy seems a retrospective step to take. Also, I think waiting to see how successful these comeback reboots really are will be worthy thought and whether there is anything new to say or do with Buffy. If not, why bother? Smacks of jumping on the revival bandwagon for no justifiable creative and commerical reason whatsoever.
Re: Limitless. Just to add to my post which I didn't make clear. I'm not overly amoured with most of the pilots this season. So when I say Limitless is, for me, the best of a no very good bunch of pilots, I'm saying that from a very low base of being impressed.
I spoke to my brother who is a lot more nicer than me

and he did say I should probably give at least 5 episodes on each show before writing them off. And he is right. So I take your point, Alex. I'm hard person to please when it comes to books, films, tv shows unfortunately

but only if what I see seems or feels like it been done before in various guises (that's my defence anyway!

). And that's why I don't rate this seaosn's pilot shows that much: they look and feel so "been there, done that". There doesn't seem to be anything new or different about them that hasn't already been done before.
