Brooklyn 99 normally airs from January onwards

As for Scorpion. I do not know.

Scorpion starts on the 12th November on ITV2 according to Geektown

As Littlemonster says Brooklyn 9-9 will likely start in January along with 2 Broke Girls.

The only other option I can think is that New Girl has 3 episodes left so they may start it once that ends next month

The Muppets given an additional 3 Episodes taking it up to 16

I thought I had read it wouldn't be more then 13 this season regardless of how well it performed, something must of changed or more likely I just Imagined that haha

Weird its only 3 episodes though, guess when working out the spring schedule they had 3 weeks of blank space on Tuesday to fill

Episode totals are not always entirely down to the network. It could be that the producers only want to do 16 episodes for Season 1.

Midseason show Lookinglass has had it's episode order reduced from 13 to 11. FOX confirm they do not have room for 13 episodes and can only schedule up to 11.

HBO has renewed a show before but then cancelled it when they aired Luck. I do think HBO should maybe not be so trigger happy with renewals unless the show is either doing really well or has critical acclaim.

That was a different situation entirely. It was cancelled because three horses were killed (or had to be put down) during filming. Animal rights groups were up in arms and it was the producers of the show that decided to cancel it.

I never saw Luck but you wonder why they didn't just do it with stock footage and CGI. It's not like there's a lack of racing coverage

With regards to 'The Brink', I watched it all the way through and enjoyed it but it was a 'bad' show. Bit of a guilty pleasure.

Ratings were also terrible, it debuted with 1.1m and ended with 0.470m, the death of the horses while terrible was the perfect excuse for HBO to axe the show without admitting it was the low ratings that played a part.

Ratings for HBO shows are not the be all and end all as they are for network shows. They have cancelled well received shows (Deadwood for one) and given 2 or more seasons to poor rating shows (Enlightened & Getting On). Luck was cancelled during the second season filming I believe mainly because of the horse deaths and the pressure from animal rights groups. The main reason will never be revealed.

While i agree and know that the ratings system is different for cable, Luck was poorly rated. Very poorly rated for HBO. The fact it got a second season before the Horses incident was a surprise it's self.

If you go through the history of HBO's drama, you will see that a typical HBO drama earns 2-4 million viewers an episode. Game Of Thrones and The Sopranos achieved even higher.

As for their comedies, they can get away with rating much lower. Likely because comedies are slightly cheaper for a one hour show.

Although, why they cancelled well rated shows like Deadwood, Carnivale and Rome still remain a headscratcher.

Most probably because of money (just a theory though), those shows must have had high production costs.

Most likely

Oh and in the most unshocking news of the year The Walking Dead has been renewed for a seventh season. I hope it's the last personally. It seems to be going no where. It's as if they have no end game at all. Season 6 has been a snore.

You can't have too much zombie action. TWD might have its problems sometimes with boring storylines, but I'd much prefer it to no Zombie shows.

The lack of zombie action does not bother me at all. I just personally think it has ran out of ideas. I will continue watching until it becomes unwatchable.

As little-monster has often (correctly) stated, most stars sign 7 year deals for television, so it would certainly make it easier to bring The Walking Dead to a close at the end of Season 7 in that respect.

I'm avoiding it until next April though so I can binge the whole season over the course of a few days and then watch the finale at the same time as everyone else.

While Paul Lee was quoted as saying he wanted a shorter run for The Muppets at last year's Upfronts, if it were doing better, that's not to say a full 22 episodes wouldn't have been ordered.

It's ratings have dropped the biggest out of any new series this Fall, despite that huge 2.9 premiere (only Blindspot and Supergirl debuted higher). An additional three episodes seems to be ABC's way of dreading carefully; and the last new episode finally stopped the decline, so we'll see where it goes from here. ABC-Disney wants to keep the viable The Muppets brand as well. It'll probably be close to call.

There is a rumour going around that Nashville has been given a fifth season. I can't see how. It's far too early and the show is one of ABC's lowest rated shows. Although if it does, I can't complain as it is one of my fav shows on television.
