That's good to know about Star Trek. It could likely be that they're going to make a proper go of the renegades fan series currently doing the rounds.

They've managed to assemble quite a 'hall of fame' of Star Trek characters for the Renegade stuff, so maybe they'll be on board if it does get picked up by a network?

It has been given a straight to series order by CBS and is set for Jan 2017 premiere. However, apart from the pilot, the show will not air on television but online. It will air on CBS's on demand service, CBS Access.

Fingers crossed it isn't entirely serialized and still retains standalone episodes.

Star Trek is going to be on CBS All Access rather than CBS or The CW. I would have assumed that with Supergirl doing good, they'd air it on CBS itself.

I suppose they want to try and see how a show does online.

Syfy have ordered a television series on Van Helsing. But with a twist. Van Helsing with be a woman named Vanessa. Production on the 13 episodes will begin in January.

I would also be surprised but as equally pleased!

Superstore and Hot and Bothered have both been confirmed to premiere next January on NBC. Hot and Bothered is now called Telenova, which was it's original title anyway.

NBC have had disasters with comedies lately. These look good though.

With the success of the films, it was inevitable that CBS would want to do another Trek series. I wonder if viewers are going to willing to pay $6.99 a month just for new Star Trek along with catch up for current CBS shows.

NBC have given an extra episode to Blindspot, Chicago Fire, Chicago PD and Law and Order:SVU

They will all have 23 episodes in total.

Quantico given three extra episodes. The show was given six extra episodes a few weeks ago but now the show will run for a total of 22 episodes.

The next question is when are large tv companies going to realise they now have global audiences to cater for.

I see TVBTM has decided to make their site into an absolute mess. They don't even put dates on the front page so you know which week you are looking for. Absolutely awful. Anybody know of any other site that gives the ratings in the same format (as in sorted into time slot)?

As long as a 13 episode drama is followed by another one. I'm not a fan of our model of less drama and more factual/benefit shows to fill the gap.

On a related note - what would people say to the argument that the streaming services are proving a much better model for developing high quality tv? Their success rate appears to be much better, though of course we don't see viewing figures.

I am completely bias though as I no longer watch broadcast tv apart from live events.
