Good news, i never thought i'd hear that considering the ratings. Rachel Bloom is excellent in this show and the songs are kind of catchy (uncut versions can be found on youtube & are quite explicit)

Same here Maccadanny. I suppose The CW see potential. Fair play. But to be fair, The CW are not as concerned with ratings unlike other networks. If they were, the likes of Jane the virgin, Reign, Beauty, Nikita and House of Dixie would never of lasted as long.

Usually a show moving to Friday isn’t a good sign, but occasionally it can work in its favour.

CBS moved Hawaii Five O to Friday nights after season 3 ( I think), and now it’s in its 6th season. And there’s no way it would still be on the air if it had remained in its original slot. Friday night ratings expectations are a lot lower, so if a show is moved there and it still gets the ratings which caused it to be moved there, it’ll probably be fine.

Yes that is good news, I was afraid it might be cancelled. Even better to get more episodes.

It will be interesting to see if it's renewed.. There will need to be some cancellations this season to make room for next season.

Containment is a one off series anyway

Arrow, The Flash and Supernatural are 100 per cent certain for a renewal
and I can't see TVD and TO going
iZombie is doing well. Rates higher than Jane, CEG and TO.

Legends Of Tomorrow is destined to be a hit

I don't think Reign is in danger. It's doing well on a friday. A 0.3 is essentially The CW's version of a 1.1/1.2 that the likes of Grimm, Hawaii and Blue Bloods earn. Plus I think The CW may give this a short final season anyway.

Very true.

And this is precisely the reason I prefer watching sub-titled foreign dramas these days.

You have to sit and pay attention.

When I watch an English language programme it is generally with a tablet somewhere within reach and it is too easy to lift it and start "arseing" about

I am terrible for grabbing my tablet and just checking (insert anything you do on a tablet) I do have to make a conscious effort to put it down and watch something properly.

My sister gets annoyed and says if your not watching it turn off the tv. but if I dared to suggest doing the same during Bake Off or some-such as she read a magazine I'd be shot.

If i ever go on my laptop during a television show, it's normally a sign that I am not enjoying it. Which is what I have done with nearly every single episode this season of Blindspot, Empire and The Walking Dead. They are great background noise at the moment. I am confident two of those shows will improve when they return next for their second half of the seasons next year. The other I dropped all together.

Sky 1 seems to be becoming home to DC inspired shows.

The Flash, Arrow, Supergirl and now this one.

I bet they are sorry they missed out on Gotham.

We are all sorry they missed out on Gotham, we would be enjoying season 2 right now if they had it as opposed to waiting till February for CH5 to finally get around to showing it

I'm glad they never got their hands on Gotham. Let other channels get their hands on some decent shows instead of them all going to Sky!

In a few weeks time we'll hear Sky have got the rights to the new season of The X-Files. What's the point of bidding when Sky snaps up everything good.

It's just a shame that Gotham went to Channel Five.
Even Channel 4 didn't treat Agents of Shield too good.

But you'd also be getting a mid season break for months. At least when it comes on it will be shown without that.

In the US Agents of SHIELD did have an obscenely long hiatus last winter to accommodate Agent Carter. Channel 4 had to leave a gap.

I don't think that Gotham is treated appallingly by channel 5

It only had about a 6 week break last year....depending when in Feb CH5 decide to show it we could be 14-16 episodes behind, would rather have it at US pace.

I hate these mid season breaks. I would rather the UK channels delayed showing a series, and only aired it when they could do one continuous run of a series.

Just a general comment about these winter breaks.

Yes we can moan about waiting months for our favourite US show to get to the UK, but with the winter break in the US some shows can end up not being that far behind by the time they get to the UK. My own favourite by the time it restarts the UK will only be 4 weeks behind and the new season hasn't even started in the UK yet. 70 day hiatus this season having only shown 8 episodes of a 23 show run.

Breaks do not bother me with shows. Some shows need breaks off the air to catch up in production. Plus I've been following US pace television for so long, it's second nature.

It was just a general comment about US shows, I mean if I couldn't watch Castle at US pace, there would be casualties, but the hiatus infuriates me, and sometimes I think I might enjoy it more at UK pace.

I'm liking the trend towards one long break in a shows run, rather than the way it used to be with a new episode or two, then a break, then a few more, then a break.

Channel 5 are delaying showing season 2 of Gotham so there is no break in the season, imo that is treating a show quite decently, US are to blame with their stupid mid season breaks.
