No....."any woman" couldn't have played that scene.
Care to explain, why any woman could not have uncrossed her legs whilst sitting? Of course if said woman was handicapped and couldnt move her legs, then fair enough.

No explanation is necessary to anyone but those being deliberately obtuse.

Suffice it to say Anne Widdicombe or Susan Boyle uncrossing their legs would not have become an iconic cinema moment which quarter of a century later still elicits much debate as to whether or not she was wearing knickers.

So no......"any" woman could not have played the role.

The woman would have to at least be sexy and have nice legs, so that would exclude a lot of women.

Any woman with some obvious exclusions of physical ability could do that scene, the thing is only a relatively few would have caused the furore that it created, which frankly looking back was Much Ado About Nothing.

But for those people who find Anne and Susan sexy, would no doubt prefer them to do it. What about the people that dont find Sharon sexy, they scene doesnt really do it for them.

Who is or isnt sexy, is personal taste. So yes any woman could have played the part.

As for whether she was or wasnt wearing knickers, I thought it has been cleared up, she wasnt wearing any.

However we are drifting of topic...she isnt a great actress - which was my original point.

Post shows here that get cancelled or renew
TV BY THE NUMBERS

Fox Cancels 'Breaking In,' 'Human Target,' 'The Chicago Code,' 'Lie To Me' & 'Traffic Light'
Poor Getting On, American version. As wonderful as the British version, but since only people with a brain watched it, the majority of American viewers didn't watch it. They were too busy watching the mindless stupidity of Jane the whatever, and the blood and gore of Fargo. Both &@&$ shows.

So Getting On got canceled.

I thought the American version was better than the Brit one. To be fair though HBO were going to cancel it after the second season but gave it a third to give it a proper ending.

Getting On wasn't cancelled at all. It was given a third and final season to wrap everything up. A cancellation in my opinion is when a show comes to an abrupt end. It either ends on a cliffhanger, of if they are still filming, they have to quickly craft a wrap up. They knew well in advance that Getting On would end. The same will be happening with The Leftovers next year.

Follow Alex Borstein on Twitter and see if it wasn't canceled.

It was canceled by the asshats at HBO because the American viewing audience prefers shit to an intelligent well written well acted show.

Really? Then HBO is even stupider than I gave them credit for being stupid.

Hulu have picked up the unaired episodes of Wicked City. Episodes 4-7 are available. Episode eight will follow soon. The unaired episodes have already aired in Poland and New Zealand.

The Showrunner of Castle has confirmed in an interview that the season finale of the current season will act as a series finale just in case the show is cancelled. I just hope Nashville does the same.

Whilst offering no apology for making an unholy mess of season 8.

Mind you, with what the showrunners have said and then done since the end of season 6, I expect the worse sort of cliffhanger.

I haven't watched any of Season 8 of Castle yet, but I can't say i'm surprised at the announcement considering Stana Katic gave every impression she was leaving last year only to sign on again at the last minute.

A few places have said she's only on a one year deal as well, so certainly everything does seem to point to this one being the last one.

Stana signed for a year, Nathan signed for 2 which of course leaves us with the possibility of the nuclear option of a season of Castle with no Beckett. For me it won't last after this season and that's what hacks me off about how bad it's been with no hope of a satisfactory conclusion.

Since the show is called castle maybe the showrunners are thinking they don`t need beckett which would be a huge error if it is because it succeeds because of them both. without beckett it just doesn`t won`t work. I would rather it had a proper ending than see it axed.

This is the whole problem with the show now. It is called Castle but it rapidly became the Kate Beckett story. The detailed analysis of I won't bore the readers with. This reached its peak in season 6. The rumours I have read is that Nathan became 'concerned' at this state of affairs and expressed his opinion vociferously to the writers. And so TPTB switched the emphasis to Castle, but not in a good way.

Now you have actors getting stroppy, wanting to dash off for other projects, delayed returns, obvious stand ins for shots etc. And a season 8 story arc that frankly is beyond laughable in its unbelievability.

Oh and the lack of promotion hasn't helped.

The fact Fillion is signed for two is inconsequential really because if they cancel the show they can just release him from the contract.

But we're hijacking the thread with Castle talk

I know and I apologise, it's just everywhere else, from social media to fans forums it's getting glum and it's always nice to get the perspective of those less obsessed than myself.

Once again sorry.

Despite being confirmed ages ago, Syfy have decided to announce again that The Expanse has been renewed for a second season. The show will return in 2017 with 13 episodes.

Funnily enough, I didn't actually know it had been renewed so this is all new information

Going to be a loooong wait for Season 2 though if, as it looks, Season 1 finishes on the 9th of Feb.

Winter TCA schedule announced. I like these as the networks talk in depth about current shows, future shows, and even give out renewals and cancellations.
