Somewhat surprising after a disappointing first story and low ratings. Perhaps it managed to do well catch up services?

Indeed it did

The pickup comes after a season that saw the show perform modestly in the same-day ratings — it averaged a 1.06 in adults 18-49 — but grow substantially in delayed viewing. In Live +7, “Scream Queens” scored a 2.0 18-49 rating. FOX also says it’s the No. 1 new comedy this season among adults 18-34 and the No. 1 new show on video on demand — which is key because when viewers watch on demand, they typically can’t fast-forward through commercials.

Across multiple platforms, the show drew a total audience of 7.2 million viewers, a 167 percent increase from its same-day audience.

FOX confirmed last year that they are taking no notice of live ratings anymore. So a renewal for Scream Queens did not shock me at all.

Be interesting to see how this turns out. Bauer is gonna be a hard act to follow. I wonder which actor they're gonna go with for the lead and the female partner?

Either their English is bad, or yours is - it should be 'non-white, not none'.

You don't want to go asking questions like that about Castle season 9. Here are a selection of POSSIBLE answers.

Yes, with both Stana and Nathan.

Yes with Nathan, but no Stana

Yes without Nathan, but with Stana (least likely of the scenarios)

Yes without both Nathan and Stana.

No.

The reason for this is of course both the stars are only signed upto the end of season 8. It's pretty obvious at least one of the stars is treating it like a part time job (heres a hint, she's spending a lot of time on holiday). BUT head of ABC has said they are keen to continue with Castle, even without the main cast. OK this is probably just a ploy to get them to sign up again early, but it does make for interesting ideas being talked about on social media. Even a spin off has been suggested with remaining cast members.

Of course all this is purely acedemic unless the figures improve drastically in the next few weeks.

BTW the return has been delayed a week, so Castle is not back till 8th February in the US.

HBO halts filming for two months on Westworld. Apparently they need time to catch up on scripts. This show has been filming for a long time and the scripts are not finished. The pilot was filmed 18 months ago. They began filming for the other episodes back in the summer. I wonder what is going on behind the scenes.

People on the internet are wringing their hands claiming that this means the show is a disaster. A similar break was taken during production of season one of The Leftovers, which is a brilliant show. If HBO doesn't mind the Westworld producers taking this extra time to get everything right, who cares? Perfectionism is only a problem when you have an inflexible schedule to submit to.

Superstore and Telenova are both near their half way mark now and It's clear which is the flop and which is the hit.
