Predictions for other shows

Nashville, Castle, American Crime, Agent Carter, The Muppets and Galavant are likely goners
Although ABC said back in January they have no plans to end Nashville just yet.

Secrets and Lies has yet to premiere it's second season

The Family and The Real O'Neals have not long premiered so too early to guess

Dr Ken could go either way

Last Man Standing is a likely renewal.

I'm hoping Nashville and Agent Carter get saved.

By the sounds of it, you're likely right about Castle. It took an age for Katic to commit to this season as it is, but the ratings haven't been good at all and I suspect she'd probably rather be off doing other things.

I haven't started watching Season 8 yet, but I read that it's pretty dire in some places.

Definitely, especially the first half of the season.

They've tried to get things back for the 2nd half but it is too little too late.

It was confirmed months ago it was coming back after they changed their mind.

It originally was, but the ratings were so good they decided to pick it up again. I'm probably not going to bother. I loved Season One but for me, the story is told.

I'm looking forward to watching it, but certainly with some trepidation

I think Nashville may get a final short fifth season. The reason why is because although Nashville's ratings are poor, they make money through the singles, albums and concerts. Plus the show has helped the tourism for Nashville it's self which has led to Nashville actually giving money to make the show.

TBH if season 8 wasn't so bad fans wouldn't mind it ending, if it got a decent ending. If that makes sense.

I think many fans realise that if its dragged on much longer it's going to virtually nothing like the show fans enjoy. Paul Lee was a fan, he kept wittering on about how he was. Well he's gone, figures are awful. It's on it's last legs.

Nathan is only slightly more interested in continuing than Stana.

This is the dilemma for fans though. The whole season 8 plot arc has been epically awful. The show runners messed up big time. And sure if the stars want to 'explore other opportunities', then let them they've been on board for eight seasons. But what fans don't want is season 8 to be the finale. But they don't want a show that limps on with half the original cast gone off.

If it helps, ABC have said that the finale of season eight will act as a series finale in case it isn't renewed.

Am I the only one who sometimes gets confused between ‘American Crime’ and ‘American Crime Story’ (The People vs OJ Simpson)?
I know American Crime Story has an extended title which most people use, but when they don’t it’s confusing having two programmes both on the air at the same time with such similar titles!

Yes I don't watch either of them but it doesn't help they have similar titles.

Also is one of them based on the film 'An American Crime'.

I read somewhere that ABC have a new boss - he probably wants to do something different.

Happy HTGAWM is renewed, although it is quite ridiculous.

The boss is a she.

and yeah. i am glad we got some early renewals. Although what was renewed was hardly a shock. All of them are good performers.

The show runners have admitted that since before Christmas. They said they know they can no longer do cliffhanger finales. So fans should be grateful at least we'll never be saddled with unresolved issues.

Not directly certainly - at least it's a different story. American crime is like one very long very depressing version of an L&O:SVU episode - you know the ones where they base it on a story ripped from the headlines? I watched the first season through but it was a bit of a chore, watched the first episode of the second season and once I knew what the headline story was gave up. It's just very depressing

American Crime Story on the other hand is American Horror Story with less ghosts and breasts. Quite entertaining in a lurid kind of way - though of course given the reality of the OJ trial it could just as well be a documentary

American Crime is much better than American Crime Story. It has some stunning acting and scripts and actually tackles crimes that are taking place right now or crimes that have happened that are being ignored. It's mean to be depressing. Male rape, homophobia, racism, cyber bullying, social class, covering up crimes and ignorance isn't a barrel of laughs hence the depression or a reason to look down on the show. It's honest and raw in it's depiction.

American Crime Story is essentially a really bad soap opera based on a true story of a crime. But it's so bad, yet so good, I can't stop watching.

Yeah I wouldn't disagree with either. I wasn't looking down on it in as such, just found it unremittingly grim

Oh cheers, doesn't sound like my sort of thing thankfully.
In a way it was a male non musical version of 'Crazy Ex Girlfriend'.

After hearing Code Black didn't end on a cliffhanger and was left in a good place, i decided to check it out. I am six episodes into it and I really liking it. Despite it's ratings being up and down, I would love for CBS to still give it a second season.
