I'm watching this at U.S pace I wasn't sure at first, it start's a bit slow but now it's one of my current favourites.
Yes, it is a very good show. Like you, I wasn't certain about it in the beginning but it is now getting very interesting. I'm pleased that it was renewed for a second series.

The two shows I would particularly like to see getting renewed are Gotham and Sleepy Hollow.

Mad Dogs USA will not be renewed for a second season by amazon. It has been confirmed it was always a one off series anyway.
They should have stopped at one series in the UK as well.

I've never seen sleepy hallow. I like supernatural type shows though so I'm thinking of giving it a go.

CBS's treatment of POI has been very poor. They have spent nearly a year denying it's ending and then waited until until very late in the season to air the final season.

Is there an air date yet?

Edit. May 3rd apparently.

Shoddy treatment of a great show.

It's weird though, because I'm sure that when I read about it being renewed for Season 5, it was that it was renewed as a "5th and final season".

Still, it's the right decision as I think the story has definitely run it's course.

I thought that myself.

Does anyone think that the lack of POI season 5 being shown in America may have affected when Channel 5 starting showing POI season 4?

Personally, I don't think so. Channel 5's treatment of the show has been terrible, but it's not surprising really, considering how poorly they treated Castle as well.

I think POI is around 15 months behind the US and Castle is something ridiculous like three years - I think they're just getting to the end of Season 5 on 5USA at the moment.

It's almost like they've adopted a "schedule it whenever" policy rather than actually paying attention to the US airdates.

Sleepy Hollow was still a bit of a hot mess this season. Not as bad as season 2, but still all over the place, and seems not know know what to do with it's two lead actors, except keep them apart on screen for as long as possible, for entirely unfathomable reasons! This show works because of Tom Mison and Nicole Beharie's great chemistry when they're together, but they seem to spend far too much time in different worlds (literally) these days! The episodes are always better when the two of them are paired up. It'll be interesting to see what the fate of this show is - the ratings have not been that great.

JasonWatkins actually Channel 5 are currently showing season 4 in double bills and I think showed episodes 7 and 8 this week so they will be near the end of the season 4 by the time season 5 starts in the US.So unlikely Channel 5 could go straight into season 5!

Castle on 5USA is the terrestrial rights to the show as Alibi have first run UK rights to the show and are currently showing season 8.So it's not really 5USA fault with that one!

I’d agree about 5USA and Castle. They only have the repeat ‘free to air’ rights to the series, Alibi has the first run rights. We don’t know what contract Alibi have with the show in terms of how long they have the ‘exclusive’ rights to each season before it becomes available to 5USA.

Similar to NCIS: Los Angeles. You could say it’s ridiculous that Channel 5 are 5 years being the US. But in reality Sky have the first run rights. In fact I think Sky have the lifetime exclusive rights to NCIS: Los Angeles, and the only reason Channel 5 can show it at all is because Sky have decided to sell the repeat ‘free to air’ rights on to them, several years later.

It wouldn't surprise me if FOX gave SH another season. They have said they are not taking live ratings into consideration anymore and there are also other FOX shows who have ratings similar or even lower than Sleepy Hollow. FOX have not had a strong season and will likely renew a few of their low rated shows to save face. If they cancelled every single show rating below 1.0, that would essentially be half their schedule gone and they won't do that.

If any shows from FOX wont be back, it will most likely be Second Chance, Cooper Barrett and Bordertown.

According to the TV By The Numbers website, the only scripted Fox series this season with worse ratings than Sleepy Hollow are The Grinder, Second Chance, and the already-cancelled Minority Report. Cooper Barrett and Bordertown are slightly ahead of Sleepy Hollow. TV By The Numbers doesn't think any of those series will be renewed. Six shows total getting the chop would be normal attrition for Fox, making way for the new series next season. Fox has had success this season with fantasy drama Lucifer and doesn't need to "save face" propping up the corpse of Sleepy Hollow.

It will be interesting to see the end result.

Awfull is an understatement, Ray Winstone as the King of Israel was miscasting on a grand scale, his wooden delivery and accent was jarring, I know he can't do accents but you would think he could try to learn how to act.
