Bordertown was always going to be a gonna. I'm surprised it made it this far.

Just waiting for Limitless, Crowded and Undateable.

I'm hopeful for Mysteries Of Laura, this season has been good so far and it would fill the light hearted cop drama hole that Castle is going to leave (although after this season I'm glad it's being put out of its misery)

Devastated over Nashville.

Any views on the new shows so far?
http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/201...w-fox-and-nbc/

Some interesting shows particularly on ABC but nothing really exciting. Seems alot of tv shows based on films but not many returning classic tv or remade uk shows this year.

I think 24 could work fine without jack.
Not sure exorcist has enough to go for more than a season
Taken cant really have any links to film
Leathal weapon will be rubbish.

Other thing i noticed about half of the leads in drama and comedy are female, uk tv struggles with this

This could be good if they do it right (i.e. tongue in cheek rather than serious). Danny Pudi is a good sign.

Quote:
““Powerless”: Set in the DC Comics universe, the show revolves around an insurance adjuster (Vanessa Hudgens) who handles claims of regular people impacted by the damage superheroes cause. Danny Pudi, Alan Tudyk and Christina Kirk also star.”

No big surprise about castle. It was never gonna work without stana. Glad Supergirl got renewed although I expected it. Gutted about Nashville. Can't believe that's gone also gutted agent carter has gone but at least Hayley will be back onscreen in conviction but gonna miss her as Peggy.

none of the fox dramas interest me at all expect maybe star, looking forward to the comedies though oddly, love that cw picked up no tomorrow, but wished the mars project was also picked up, am interested in time after time, notorious and possibly imaginary mary at abc, as for nbc none of the comedies interest me, but some of the dramas sound potentially great

It's probably the first time in years where I'm not interested in any of the upcoming new shows. Still there's plenty of good returning shows and lots of good stuff on streaming or cable services so it's not all bad. It's a shame to be losing Agent Carter though, no doubt to be replaced with another generic crime drama

I hope NBC pick up Cruel Intentions. Sarah Michelle Gellar deserves a big comeback and I loved the movie. Plus it would be nice to see NBC do a big primetime soap opera. They are very predictable in their shows. They constantly pick up shows that are normally crime dramas/thrillers.

I seem to be in the minority who really enjoyed code black so got my fingers crossed for that.

Everything else I watch has been renewed or had already been announced as cancelled (POI, Mike & Molly etc).

The rumor going around for Code Black is that if it is renewed, it will be going under a reboot. Which worries me, as it is fine as it is.

I was going to give my thoughts on all the pickups but might be a bit off a long post, so maybe best for a new thread

Pleased about Mindy. Agree though it would be good to get some news about a UK airing...

Well, here's my long post on the pick-ups: Nothing jumps up at me that says "This looks interesting".

ETA: I'm looking forward to read what others think. It might inspire me to think, feel and see differently.

Frequency was a good movie, many moons ago. If done right that could be an interesting show.

Time travel seems to be this years new theme.

Shame we never got that mooted spin off from the excellent Duncan Jones movie Source Code. Been mooted for years but if it was ever going to happen it would be now.

Curious that there has been so much success from overlapping series in the US -

Chicago Fire, PD, Med and now Justice with goodness knows what else - maybe - Chicago Garbage Men - next up???

Then the interacting CSIs and Law and Orders and so on. Plus all the crossing over shows on CW - Flash, Arrow, Legends and now Supergirl joining the mix.

The BBC tried that with Casualty, Holby City and then Holby Blue that somehow flopped.

Wonder why this has become so popular and successful in the US but did not work here.

ITV had more luck with Heartbeat and The Royal but by and large we have not gone the route the US are doing.

ITV should try a similar drama franchise bringing back The Bill as Sun Hill Blues and then launch Sun Hill Fire (basically reviving London's Burning). And so on.

They had the opportunity all set up for such a scenario as the two shows were set close together but never did it.

Perhaps they could do Coronation Street Blues and Hospital?

Ratings have been awful. No shock for Faking It.

I really wish they would make shows as though they thought they were going to be cancelled each season.

Obviously I don't mean writing and ending to each season just incase, I mean in terms of quality and not getting too complacent.

This season has felt like most of the shows have been treading water and just going through the motions.

I'm probably 'losing' 4 shows in the coming weeks, being Castle, Person of Interest, Rizzoli and Isles and, most likely, the 100 if i drop it (which I most likely will) so I probably need to pick up some new ones.

The new 24 series will probably be worth a go. APB and Taken maybe. I can't see what they're going to do with Taken that hasn't already been done a million times though.

I do like the sound of Powerless though.
