I think the awful ratings were likely a factor, not Kristen doing another show. Plus the main reason that her new show is only 13 episodes is so she is able to continue with House Of Lies if it is ever given future seasons.

ABC promo thoughts

Designated Survivor - Looks good. I might check this out. It seems like this is much more than another terrorism type show.

Conviction - Hayley Atwell is the selling point but the show it's self leaves little to be desired.

Time After Time - Sounds good on paper but visually, I can't see how a show like this can work long time. Will each episode just be a cat and mouse chase of HG wells and Jack the ripper?

Notorious - This looks brlliant. It reminds me of Scandal as it all seems to be about media manipulation. But scandal is much darker with murder and politics, this isn't and it doesn't seem to take it's self seriously. The fact it has been placed between Grey's and Murder gives me hope. But i am already hailing this as one of the big hits of the season anyway.

Still Star Crossed - This looks wonderful. A period drama. Soapy elements. Shonda Rimes is involved. What is there I cannot love? But i feel it is on the wrong network. I could easily imagine it on The CW or Freeform.

Downward Dog - I thought this sounded awful but i laughed all the way through the trailer. It seems like a smart show

Imaginary Mary - This screams FLOP and Jenna Elfman is bad omen for short lived shows anyway. This will most likely be her fifth flop show in a row.

American Housewife - I preferred the original title but I can imagine using the world "fattest" may of been offensive to some people so ABC changed it. This seems ok but i can imagine the novelty of a woman living in a self obsessed vain world getting old rather quick. I do love the lead actress though.

Speechless - Comes across as something different, sweet, funny and honest. Minnie Driver blew me away in her performance purely on the trailer. ABC clearly have big plans for this to place it on wednesdays.

Dammit, dammit, dammit, dammit!

Preacher has been picked up by Amazon Prime in the UK.

I was really looking forward to this. Great cast as well.

Prime seem to pick up the best shows. I refuse to use prime as their content sucks.

A bit of a conflicting statement there.

What i mean is. I refuse to use their service because I only like a tiny portion of their content which just so happens to be shows that are not available elsewhere.

Good to see Last Man Standing renewed again, now all we need is Sky to show the next season... we’re years behind the US now!

And this will be Brooklyn Nine Nine’s 4th season, so if FOX decide they don’t want a 5th then it’s likely NBC Universal (who produce and distribute the show) will just wrap it up as there will be enough episodes to sell it as a good syndication package (whereas if FOX had cancelled it this year NBC Universal would more than likely have tried to find another broadcast partner, or air it themselves, to get to the syndication mark).

Obviously it’s down to personal taste, but I think Amazon are really picking up their game in terms of their acquisitions and original content – they obviously want to become a serious rival to Netflix (and I think it might happen). Plus they’ve got the advantage of being able to offer free delivery, free music streaming, free cloud storage etc. as part of the package too.
For me their biggest weakness is maybe their user interface. I access it via an Amazon Fire TV box and there’s a lot more content on the service than you first think – for example they only advertise a selection of their new additions, the rest you have to find for yourself (or use unofficial websites like I do).

Maybe in due time my opinion of Prime may change?

Good thinking in placing Macgyver with Hawaii. CBS have such a solid friday line up, adding a new show is worth a risk.

Makes sense that they have split Ncis on a tuesday to premier Bull in between.

Plus they have put Kevin can wait after TBBT which i thought made sense although didnt think they would, although its only for the begining when TBBT airs on a Monday due to football

I decided to take Amazon up on last weekend's £59 Prime offer. I mainly want the free next day delivery but there's a lot of tv that will be good to watch via high quality, reliable streams as oppose to the SD, glitchy ones I get from my Android box (ironically bought through Amazon).

I'm not keen on prime delivery as they use amazon logistics in my area and you don't get a 1hr slot with them so you have to stay in till 8pm unless they deliver earlier.

I wonder why CBS are shopping Limitless. The ratings for Limitless were no different to Code Black but yet that was renewed without question

I couldn't see Limitless on any other network than CBS.

The Limitless saga goes on then. I dont get it like you said Monster it was about same as code black. My first thought was they were going to palm it off on CW but that just not going to happen as wont fit. Gut feeling is it will be cancelled and it just be dragged out.

How come Preacher isn't on AMC UK then? In the same way as Fear The Walking Dead is?

It could air on their in the future. PRIME only really have first rights to shows like Preacher. It doesn't mean they can't air elsewhere. The Vikings, Extant and Black Sails have all aired elsewhere despite being on PRIME at first.

Mixed results on the cancellation front for me this season. Really happy that Sleepy Hollow will back, but sad that Limitless looks finished.

All shows that suggest a long run in the title are doomed.

Limitless - like last years Forever - was a tempting title too far.

Though it is the sort of show Netflix just might take on.

Conviction looks decent enough, I could maybe watch it. Designated Survivor isn't doing anything for me to be honest. Time After Time could have potential but it may be shortlived though. Notorious feels like a Shondaland show. Nothing else really grabbing me there though.
