I can't say as i'm overly bothered about the cancellations of Human Target, The Chicago Code and Lie To Me.

HT was only ever fluffy action entertainment, that i wont particularly miss (has season 2 even been shown in the UK yet?). TCC i've not even started watching yet (although i'll give it a chance tomorrow). And LTM seemed to have run out of steam this season with mediocre storylines and inexplicable changes in certain character's personalities (in Season 2 Cal and Foster looked to be heading towards some kind of romantic storyline, then in the Season 3 premiere they hate each other). All their ratings were pretty poor, so i'm not surprised.

Apparently Sky1 are going to show the rest of Season 3 starting early next month. There's a thread somewhere in this forum with the details.

That sounds remarkably similar to The 4400
apart from it's 4350 less people. They're all from the same time and place rather than different times over about a century and various locations. They weren't taken by a mysterious entity / group. And they probably won't have any mutant powers.

losing lie to me and human target is a bit of a gutter, tbh its one of the major flaws with american tv that they are willing to cancel things at the drop of a hat.
they rarely let a show grow and find an audience, take glory daze i liked it on e4 but after its been cancelled.

networks need to make content that they feel is quality like studio 60 and hope people will watch rather than make crap aimed at a certain demographic hoping it will be an instant hit.

the classic tale in that of cheers a hit with the critics but it wasnt a ratings smash, however it was given time and ended up being a massive hit.

Given who's behind it and the rugs JJ continually pulled from under us on Lost, I don't think you can say any of that with any certainty. Especially the mutant powers bit. John Locke anyone?

I, too, thought it sounded exactly like The 4400. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing as The 4400 was great. It all depends on the execution. After all, JJ royally ripped off La Femme Nikita for Alias and that turned into an absolute triumph.

J.J. Abrams didn't really have anything to do with Lost beyond the initial premise and the pilot, the showrunners were Calrton Cuse and Damon Lindelof, they're the ones who were continually pulling the rug.

I'm probably in the minority here but I'm really miffed about Traffic Light being cancelled.
It's only half hour long, surely they could have fitted it in somewhere, I'll miss Aya Cash (Callie) in particular.

Fringe, Castle & Raising Hope have all been renewed.

Hoping that The Mentalist will also be renewed. CBS announces their new schedule on 18 May, so will know by then.

Still nothing on 'V'
The Exec producer said "Despite what you read online, the ratings for V have been OK and the show has a chance of being renewed for a third season". Fingers crossed.

Glad to see that Supernatural has been renewed and it nice that Fringe gets another season. Lie To Me I used to really like but like so many other people it just seemed to have diped into 'meh' for me as well. Tim Roth is excellent and along with Robert Carlyle in SGU it will be a shame to not have them on TV, however I am sure they will be back.

Not sure wether to bother with The Chicago Code now as I hate watching a series if I know it will end without answers, I'll see the first episode and go from there. I liked Caprica and SGU so its a shame to see them go, I think both had a lot of potential. I am still not 100% sold on V, it just doesnt seem to be realising its potential to me and yet I still keeping watching. Must be something there

Nice to see Modern Family and Raising Hope renewed.

I think that V has taken a bit to long to get where it is. I was not bothered if it got renewed but episodes 9 and 10 of series 2 (watched US pace) have left me wanting a series 3.

bythenumbers never said that Fringe had ever been cancelled. It did say on several occasions that it was more likely to be cancelled than renewed going by the ratings. But it if I understand correctly, Fringe out performed other shows on the night even though it was placed in the Friday graveyard slot when it returned and Fox decided to give it a fourth series (something I'm pleased about).

The DS list is bound to be accurate as its only updated when the announcement is made unlike bythenumbers which is guessing but has been fairly accurate and has been since I've been reading it.
Just one inaccuracy on the DS list is The Cape. This shows as "effectively cancelled". It was cancelled as far back as 8th March.
Ratings really had nothing to do with Fringe's renewel any other network would have dumped it on the ratings it was getting.

Ratings have everything to do with it as it was put on the Friday graveyard slot where programmes go before being cancelled. Fringe is the exception to the rule due to better than expected ratings for a Friday night. As I said, I'm not complaining.

Friday nights AFAIK are treated differently to the rest of the week as far as ratings go..

JP, JW and Fox came out and stated the reason it had been granted another season, ratings on its own would have seen it cancelled without a moments hesitation, shows with far higher ratings than fringe have been cancelled due to low ratings.
The decision was made very early as well so JP JW could forge ahead with the season 3 finale instead of a series finale that they had in their back pockets.
JP/JW hnted on twitter long before the decison was made that they were confident it would be renewed even though at that time ratings were poor.
My guess was fox told them it would not be cancelled but they had to stay quite until the official announcement.
Would guess it may get a fifth and final season enabling Josh and Jeff to play out the full show arc that had been planned from the start.

I'm hoping that V and Chuck get picked up for new season but I think it will very unlikely that both will do.Does anyone know when we will have an idea if these shows are picked up or cancelled?

Science Fiction always does better on fridays.. so the move to friday was seen by everyone as a good thing.

In fact, the move from friday to tuesday is one of the things that killed SGU.

Yes, I know the ratings alone would have killed it and the reason why it was renewed early so what was the reason why it was renewed (as you say that JP, JW and Fox stated the reason) as I haven't seen anything.

I would guess Fox will see how season 4 goes before renewing it.

Upfront presentations for the Fall are next week for all networks, Fox has just pre-empted itself by formally announcing cancellations for everything it had not previously renewed before their upfront.

It is likely that the other networks won't confirm all their cancellations until their own respective presentations to advertisers/media buyers.

The news always leaks out before those formal announcements. Fox's news was simply first this year. I think we will know what ABC and NBC are going to do before they make their announcements next week.

SGU was already cancelled before they moved it from Fridays.

No. It was moved to Tuesday on October 5th. SGU was cancelled on December 16th.

edit:
unless you're implying it was moved from friday because they wanted to cancel it. Which isn't true either.. it was moved from friday to make room for some stupid WWE deal, and either SGU or Sanctuary had to move... SGU lost the coin toss.

Oh sorry, it looks like i was mistaken. I was under the impression that the first half of season 2 aired on Fridays and that it moved to Tuesdays after the mid-season break. Obviously i was wrong.
