Homeland delayed until January 2017. Showtime are currently in talks to renew the show for a 7th and eight season. In it's place, Showtime will be airing Shameless's seventh season.

Rather unusual to air two seasons of Shameless in one year. Although i can't complain as I love it. I wonder why the change.

Oh no way, that is shit! I love my fix of Homeland. Jan 2017 is way too far away. I was looking forward to its return in autumn.

Wonder what Ch4 will have to show in its place.

I maybe reading to much into this but I know that Homeland are not begining production until August for season 6 and it is based in New York between the presidential election and innurgaration. So November to January.

Part off the theme is going to include who is in charge eg the current president or the new one coming in. I wonder if they want to see if Trump say got elected and and then use that as a differing view point/battle on how to react to the situation that is happening. As i think it is probably pretty obvious that what say Trump would do would be different to say what Clinton would do

Obviously i could be reading far to much into it lol

The renewal deal for Homeland suggests to me season 8 could be its last which sounds about right. The terrorist plotline can only be done for so long before it starts becoming stale.

Most likely, plus Claire Danes is only signed up for seven seasons so I can imagine there are current talks and deals in place for her to sign on for one more season, and with renewing your contract also means a pay rise.

I wouldn't be surprised if Season 7 and 8 of Homeland are shortened seasons for financial reasons and the fact Showtime has so many shows and limited timeslots. I could see Masters of Sex ending this year to make room for Twin Peaks and I could them opening up another night for original programming.

I have never really understood why networks like HBO and Showtime only air their shows on a sunday. They should open up another night of programming. Both HBO and Showtime have a fair few shows picked up and they are having to delay them or delay their existing shows to make room.

Sundays is a prime night for cable shows because people at work talk about the next day, AMC has its top shows on Sunday but has started putting shows on Mondays and Tuesdays. Both Showtime and HBO tried putting shows on Mondays and none of them did well. I do think Showtime should consider putting shows on another night as they cannot fit all of them on Sundays

HBO has given a series order to Barry, its half-hour comedy pilot starring, co-written and directed by Bill Hader in Saturday Night Live alum’s return to television. The pilot, which stemmed from Hader’s exclusive development deal with HBO, also marked Hader’s directorial debut.

Co-written by Hader and Silicon Valley executive producer Alec Berg, Barry centers on an ex-Marine (Hader) who works as a low-rent hitman in the Midwest. Lonely and dissatisfied in his life, he begrudgingly travels to Los Angeles to kill someone and ends up finding an accepting community in a group of eager hopefuls within the LA theater scene.

The series, which co-stars Henry Winkler as Gene Cousineau, an inspiring acting teacher; Stephen Root as Fuches, a man who arranges Barry’s hits; Sarah Goldberg as Sally, an aspiring actress who is Barry’s entree into LA’s theater scene; Anthony Carrigan as Noho Hank, a Chechen gangster; and Glenn Fleshler as Goran Pazar, a Chechen gangster, will shoot in Los Angeles in 2017

Amazon confirm the new shows for their next pilot season

The Last Tycoon sounds really good. I have been wanting to see a show about the movie industry, especially back in the hollywood golden age.

Comedy Central has given a series order to pilot Corporate, written by Matt Ingebretson as well as Jake Weisman and Pat Bishop, members of the (all-male) sketch group Women. Corporate is described as a dark, satirical workplace comedy that follows Matt (Ingebretson) and Jake (Weisman), two junior executives-in-training who are forced to do the dirty work of the higher-ups at one of the world’s largest corporations, Hampton DeVille.

It's a real shame Amazon didn't commission 'The After'.
