Feeling a vague sense of unsatisfaction?

HBO cancel Vinyl after one season. The show was originally renewed soon after it's premiere.

I am a bit gutted about this. I really enjoyed it. It wasn't a ratings winner and it had a mixed reception, but i had hoped that the show would work out the kinks of it's second season.

Vinyl was a hot mess despite the talent behind and in front of the camera.

It turns out their is a new bloke in charge of programming at HBO. Normally when a new person comes in, they make big changes. The person in charge before saw potential but this new guy clearly didn't.

MTV confirm they are moving Scream to tuesdays. Most likely an attempt to save the show.

I know it's very highly unlikely but when I read the news about Vinyl, it made me wonder what would have happened if the pilot had actually been at least an hour shorter ..

Hmm i wondered that too. But it's a shame if people shunned it because of the length of the pilot. I am not keen on 2 hour pilots either but you deal with it.

I know what you mean, and i'd probably have given it a go over a few days ideally but every time i went back to it i just couldn't summon any enthusiasm to get stuck in to it and bailed out.

Shame really because it did look good and I like almost all of the cast as well.

I know what you mean. If you have no enthusiasm, then that means the show isn't sitting right with you.

For a 2hr pilot to work it's got to grab your attention early, I stopped watching halfway through because it wasnt exciting me

Any chance any UK channels will pick up new US dramas Greenleaf from OWN and Saints and Sinners from Bounce TV? They are fairly big shows in the US and look good from the previews

That would be nice. They are on my list to watch

Maybe BET UK could pick them up?

The new star trek will have 13 episodes for it's first season. As well as running one story throughout those episodes. Looks like I am out. Serialized star trek? No thanks

Glad to see Vinyl cancelled.

Overhyped and frankly not very good. And its clichéd revisionist music history clearly written by a 22 year old who got their history from trendy books on punk/new wave.
