That's odd. I wonder if they could only tie down the stars to the original 18 episodes ?
No, the show was always planned as two seasons.

I keep saying it but they never should have cancelled Defiance, it was at least a half decent show with some good actors.

I knew Hunters would flop based on it's trailer. Which sounds really judgemental but it was my gut instinct.

Any word on mistresses? I've gotten into it lately and it's really good.

I will be shocked if it's renewed but if it is, most likely be a final season. I wasn't keen on season 3. I found a certain departure caused a bigger effect than I thought. I won't say who due to Sorcha being a newbie to the show. I don't know if season 4 has been any improvement as I like to binge watch the show once it has aired in a full.

I agree but S4 is shaping up to be much better than S3 now that Calista is gone.

Maron to end after four seasons. The decision to end the show was down to the creator and star of the show.

FOX is entering the Marvel universe.

The network has made a put pilot commitment for a new “X-Men” action-adventure series, hailing from writer Matt Nix (“Burn Notice,” FOX’s new series “APB”).

The untitled series will focus on parents who discover their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.

Sounds a little like a riff on the Morlocks. Hope it's good.

Netflix order 20 episodes of a comedy starring Kathy Bates called Disjointed. It will centre on an LA based cannabis dispensary.

Thanks for the heads up.

I really do like this series, although on paper I shouldn't.

I don't think the ratings have been that good for it from what I've read, so I suppose it's more likely than not to be just a one season series.

Having said that, I don't know that it could go much further anyway given the premise, it would just become boring if it dragged out too long I feel. Not unless the writers had something more up their sleeve that could take it in a different direction.

I heard about this a few months ago

I get the impression this is like a network version of American Crime Story but with the Law and Order name attached it.

Yeah just like The People v OJ Simpson.

This is a Dick Wolf project with a veteran showrunner from Law & Order on it. just adds another Wolf project to NBC.

Its a good deal really. With it being available within 24 hours from US broadcast to the whole 188 countries where Netflix is available. Plus they will have all previous Star Trek episodes available by the end off the year as well.

I think you mean Star Trek. Being a fan of nether myself I can see how you could make such a mistake, but others will crucify you for such a thing.

As for the deal itself, I agree that it’s a major deal for Netflix. It will undoubtedly generate a lot of interest amongst a very loyal and committed audience so being the exclusive home of it outside the US is a very big deal.
I’m still a little surprised CBS are making it a CBS All Access exclusive, but I can completely understand them doing it for sake of boosting the profile of their online subscription service in an already competitive market.
