Rumors are surfacing again that Vampire diaries is ending this season.
I've heard those, too, and that it will be a curtailed 13 episode run with Originals picking up after it ends.

To be honest, I want it to end. I'll be a bit sad, sure, but I think it's already overstayed its welcome by at least two years and if they drag it out it's going to be like flogging a dead horse. TVD's glory days are long gone, alas.

I love the first 2 seasons of TVD but just couldn't stand Enzo and his piss weak Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean impression and tuned out, sad but as you say, it's best days are long gone.

Didn't we hear this 'excuse' a few weeks back with a certain other show. I'm not calling foul but it is the easy way out to save face of the network.

Yeah. I know what you mean. I think you might be referring to the dearly departed Penny Dreadful. You really don't know what to believe these days when it comes to real reasons on why a television show comes to an end.

It wouldn't surprise me, but I think last season was rather good. I suppose it makes sense to wrap it up whilst they can though, have cameos on the Originals instead.

It should of ended when Nina left. Once you lose your lead actress, you are essentially digging a hole to be buried in
Are you kidding? Nina/Elena/Katherine was the worst aspect of that show. Seriously whiney. The latest season excelled because of her departure.

Black Sails to end after four seasons. Filming is currently underway on season 4.
I read this yesterday, and whilst unfortunate (cause it's a great show), I can understand them wanting to end on a high. Many shows these days push on when their story has been told, and with a few exceptions, they're death waiting to happen.

.
So did the ratings improve after she left? To be honest for me S7 has been a bit of a mess.

I would imagine that similar to what happened when SGA was cancelled in place of SGU; many fans quit the show in protest. I wouldn't be surprised if the same applied here. Many people (I'd imagine more teens) cried a little over a mediocre character over an advancing plot, but each to their own.

I don't know if this has been posted already, if so I missed it.

Netflix show Bloodline has been renewed for season 3.

I'm pleased about that, it's a show that's gone from strength to strength.

They've declined, but not as much as people were expecting. Also when you add in that the show is now on Friday's I think it held up extremely well.

In two minds about Teen Wolf. On the one hand, it's impossible to watch in the UK these days, to the point that waiting for an import DVD is a wise move. On the other, it's been a great little show, tainted a little by it's title but such a far cry from the 80s film.

I will miss it when the end comes.

It really needs to if I'm being honest. Same with The Originals too.

Me too.

Surprised though they didn't renew it earlier, it is one of their "flagship" shows after all....

Yeah I would have thought that the announcement would have been made a while ago, but maybe they had to work out the logistics of all of the other marvel stuff they've got coming up.

I'm happy about it and never thought I would say that. S5 was just atrocious and imo this show is beyond repair now. It doesn't help that it is full of so many unlikeable characters now. It has been a great show, S3 remains to be one of my favourite seasons of a show. But the time is right to end.

Plus the Teen part of the title will become a bit irelevant the longer it goes on. Is he still even a teen in the show?

There is a teen wolf in it, just not the main star

It was never officially confirmed until today, by the creators at Comic Con. So it's kinda new news.
