It'll air for one more week.”

I’m slightly surprised, not really at its cancellation, but at how sudden it’ll be removed from the schedules. It sounds like it’s all down to the fact contracts are due for renewal... which is a shame because it would have been nice for them cover the election before leaving the airwaves.
I also didn’t know Larry Wilmore was the original executive producer/showrunner of CBS’s ‘Black-ish’ – maybe in hindsight he should have stayed with that job.

Surely the fact that Trevor Noah’s ‘Daily Show’ is a shadow of Jon Stewart’s incarnation has played a major role in the cancellation of ‘The Nightly Show’? It was struggling with a much stronger lead-in, it isn’t surprising that following a weaker lead-in has resulted in it’s cancellation.

It’ll be interesting to see what Comedy Central choose to do with the 11:30pm slot now... I suspect they might not create a replacement show and instead promote to ‘@midnight’ (yes, I know the name might be a bit of an issue to overcome!). Or they could promote one of their existing stars – although they’ve just lost Jessica Williams, who in my mind was their only obvious choice given that John Oliver and Stephen Colbert are long gone now.

I think there's a lot of truth in that, when we lived in the US, we'd watch the Daily Show and then flow into Colbert/Nightly Show rather than turn over at 10:30 to watch Len/Fallon

But when we started watching Conan at 10pm if we decided to switch it was never to the Nightly Show

I might not make it to Season 3 at the rate i'm going. It's still a good, stylish show but i'm finding now that whenever the latest episode appears, I'm almost making excuses not to watch it until I've literally watched everything else.

Even though I really hope it doesn't happen, it looks more and more likely that the blind item for cancellation may be Murder in the First.

Amazon order a straight to series version of Jack Ryan. Jack Ryan is based from the books by Tom Clancy. There will be 10 episodes.

There was that Jack Ryan film some years back.
Is this a reboot or follow on from the film but I presume a different cast.

I assume a reboot. John Krasinski is playing the role. He previously had a nine year role on The Office.

I Am Cait has been cancelled after two seasons. I really liked this but it's ratings were crap. Oh well.

Season 2 is available now in the UK on Playstation Plus as well. I've seen about half the episodes, and I think it's a big improvement on the first season.

Quite a few actors have played Jack Ryan

Harrison Ford in Patriot Games & Clean & Present Danger
Alec Baldwin in Hunt for Red October
Ben Affleck in Sum of All fears
Chris Pine in Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit

New Blind Item

According to sources, a returning series on one of the Big 5 networks is getting ready to pull off what will likely go down as one of the coolest, most surprising casting stunts of the year. The onscreen twist — which was shot earlier this month under a Star Wars-level veil of secrecy — is set to air during the show’s season premiere.

I was actually referring to the Jack Ryan film from a few years ago which was actually called that which was a reboot of the earlier ones with a younger actor and character.

It seems the Amazon TV series is a reboot of the reboot so again focus in on the character as a young man.

It was revealed at the CW recent panel that Katie Cassidy has signed a deal to appear across all of the DC shows on the network. She's also already been in The Flash since Laurel was killed, establishing that she has an Earth 2 double so it won't really be any kind of twist to see her back - unless - the twist is that her Earth 2 double essentially "turns good" and becomes the 'new' Laurel Lance.

The CW is developing an ambitious sounding The Lost Boys series, presumably as a replacement for The Vampire Diaries.
