No shock there. Now it's renewed i can watch it
Apparently Stranger Things is one of Netflix's most viewed shows alongside House of cards, OITNB and Fuller House.
Even if Stranger Things hadn't been renewed it would still be worth watching. Also, there's no confirmation yet whether it will follow direclty on from S1 or be a different storyline.

Nothing weird about it at all - it's all very possible in theory. At the annual State of the Union address the entire Cabinet and Congress are in one place so the convention is that a "designated survivor" is kept at a secure location: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Designated_survivor
I think there was a West Wing episode about it as well.

There has, it's a follow on (a year later)

Also, one of Tom Clancy's 'Jack Ryan' books starts with the entire US government being wiped out when a plane is flown into the capital building during the state of the union address (this was pre 9/11). Though in that case the Vice President (Ryan) is not present for some reason so the succession is straight forward.

Sorry to derail the thread. . . .

After binge watching Stranger Things on day one, at the end of it I came away saying that even if it didn't get renewed, I would be content. Of course, I am pleased now that it's been renewed but it does just fine with one season.

I'm watching at UK pace so didn't see the ending yet. It's such a shame it was cancelled as it was such a fun show.

Don't worry, no spoilers.

I've really enjoyed the fourth season. It wasn't like the earlier series but still fun to watch, Evelyn had some of the best lines

As we have seen recently with Home Fires, writers and producers should bookend their series. Viewers will return for a show if they have followed it. Unresolved endings can harm future brand new series, with viewers unwilling to give a show a chance until they are sure that it is returning.

AMC cancel Feed The Beast after one season

With more and more summer shows either being renewed or cancelled, I can't wait to hear about

Wayward Pines
Mistresses (which has apparently been cancelled but yet to be confirmed to the public and the finale apparently serves as a wrap up)
American Gothic
Braindead
Guilt
Dead of Summer

Was looking for any clues as to the future of Roadies and found this article about the upcoming GLOW series on Den of Geek.

The GLOW gig will also be a nice and quick rebound for Marc Maron, whose IFC sitcom Maron was just recently cancelled after four seasons. Maron has fielded recent appearances on Showtime’s (also recently cancelled) Roadies
http://www.denofgeek.com/us/tv/glow/...th-alison-brie

I know it's not official confirmation, but it's really not surprising as even the head of Showtime was quoted as saying the show hadn't caught on. I'm not expecting it back, but it would be nice to get some kind of announcement soon.

Yes, I am still baffled about Home Fires. An audience of 6m and cliffhangers all over the place. Why should any viewer trust ITV?.

ITV must be the uk version of CW as CW also cancel decent rating shows on cliffhangers.
I've never forgiven CW for the secret circle cliffhanger they cancelled on.

CW cancelled The Secret Circle because it's ratings declined in the second half of the season. It's ratings and demos were not decent.

The CW have never cancelled a television show that rated well. So it's not really a UK version of ITV1

Take no notice of me i'm still bitter at CW over the secret circle and the messengers lol.

It is odd though itv cancelling a show that was getting over 6 million viewers i never watched it but was surprised it got cancelled.

I seen the first season of Wayward Pines and really liked it but since Fox was removed from BT TV I have not seen any of the second season.
I do hope that the 3rd season of Good Witch will come to Netflix next year as I have just started watching season 2. I still waiting for more Heartland to come to Netflix also. I'm on season 3 of Heartland.
Been enjoying Grays Anatomy on AMC, I'm 4 or 5 shows behind AMC as I at times been recording it and now have it set to series recored. Never seen past season 2 of Grays Anatomy as that's when I got rid of Sky. So I'm glad AMC now has the show.

Haha fair enough

I do understand the annoyance though. ITV were mad and crazy over cancelling Home Fires.

You feel like banging on the doors of the BBC to step in and save the show. It wouldn't be the first time an ITV programme has move over to the BBC.

Fans really did try and rally together to bring it back. There was a massive petition which was signed by a lot of people. Sadly it made no difference.

Did they contact Netflix? Netflix might take it on they did with Black mirror.

Netflx can't always be the solution to every show that is cancelled though. The main reason they took on Black Mirror was because Black Mirror rated highly on the US Netflix anyway.

Home Fires is hardly the kind of show Netflix would be interested in.
