Meryl Streep is close to signing a deal to do a new tv show called The Nix. She will co produce the show with JJ Abrams.

I was wondering how long it would be until someone snapped Meryl up for a tv series. She's done tv before but only guest appearances or mini-series. So this is a big deal to get someone like her on board.

The Last Ship has been renewed for a fifth season. The show was previously given a fourth season a few months ago.

That's interesting and also good news for me at least. It must sell well to other countries and that makes it worth continuing.

I think the show is improving all the time and I'll be interested to see where the story goes next.

Just to add regarding The Last Ship. When it was renewed for Season 4 last month it was said that TNT had ordered a 13 episode order. However todays news that it has been renewed for a Season 5 as well, has reduced Season 4 to 10 episodes and Season 5 will also be 10 episodes. They are also going to film the Seasons back to back as well.

NBC have bought a script for procedural drama First Responders. It will follow young veterans struggling to reintegrate into society. The elite team are the best in the business Search and Rescue in the country. Executive Producer is Vin Diesel and it will be penned by Video Game Vet Jesse Stern who has been a longtime writer/producer on NCIS.

Watched this earlier and enjoyed it. I was looking forward to it as when it was picked up i said that it was a subject close to me and hoped it would be shown in the right sense. Having watched the pilot im not disappointed and i hope it stays this way.

Watching all the trails for NBC shows via nfl.com gamepass, Timeless looks woefully pretentious, thought it was an ad for high end watches at first.

A lot of people have been predicting this to be the big comedy breakthrough hit of the season and some are already predicting award nominations for Minnie Driver.

I agree the Columbian production really dragged you in as it was so interesting. It was a bit of a slog to get through it all but well worth it in the end. I felt a bit guilty because i started to feel sorry for him and his sidekicks even after all the terrible things he had done,
You are not alone in feeling sorry for him at the end, he was a evil monster but he was still loved by his family, the Colombian production was far superior without the need to sanitise and through sex scenes in for good measure, that the viewer felt empathy for him will make this the best Escobar drama by a mile.

I've lost my mistresses and I have lost my Maids all in one week. Both left on cliffhangers.

The only way Devious Maids could return will be if its production company, ABC Studios, wishes to sell it elsewhere. The show's future really lays with them.

Was looking forward to this when it was supposed to be developed into animated show, but with it now being live-action this is more interesting. Though I don't like that its being made by the guy that made Supergirl and The Flash. The writing on those shows is terrible.
