Not exactly a surprise i suppose

Although i'd hope they're considering bringing the story to an end at some point because i'd hate for the show to keep going and just get stale.

E4 have picked up Timeless

Sky & UKTV have gone really quiet on US acquisitions of late.

Have Sky only secured Conviction? - which is likely to be cancelled soon if the ratings in America are anything to go by!

I know, or at least have read as much, that sky are apparently concentrating on original productions and aren't spending as much on US content now.

Makes you wonder if the producers and US networks are asking too much money for rights in the hope that the likes of Netflix or Amazon will pay it ?

I think there will come a time where Netflix and Amazon may play host to more and more US imports. The great thing about Netflix and Amazon is when they pick up these new shows, they upload the new and latest episode just hours after they have aired in the states. That way UK viewers are caught up and not months behind like the old days.

Sky have got burned in the past with early acquisitions not working out. OK a long time in the past, but still after things like Forever and now Conviction looking dubious, maybe someone had said let's not go silly on the new stuff just yet.

Cos let's be honest Conviction is on life support all ready. Looks like Sky fell for all the hype after Agent Carter, obviously one of the few.

Can't stand her shows, don't know why the hell my wife watches them, send them over to Lifetime or BET networks and keep them there.

Amazon renews Bosch for a season 4.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I think that makes it Amazon’s most successful ‘original’ to date (if you use number of seasons as the success criteria).

Transparent is their most successful. Three seasons aired so far and a fourth due next year. Bosch will still be a season off as season 3 isn't due until next year, which likely means season 4 won't see the light of day until 2018.

Great to read this news. One of my favourite shows.

YES! Makes up for Murder in the First being cancelled.

Any word on Major Crimes? I know it got extra episodes ordered but any word on another season?

No news on a season 6 for Major Crimes but i would expect one. With Rizzoli and Isles now laid to rest, Major Crimes is TNT's highest rated show. They won't let that one go,

Thanks. I'm hoping so, it's one of the best things around - as is Bosch

Yes, I agree. I did start a new thread earlier today regarding the new Amazon show 'Goliath' starring Billy Bob Thornton. It's a good example of a series that's so involving that the opportunity to binge watch is a real plus.

The quality of the series would sit quite happily on a platform such as Sky Atlantic but more and more great shows like this are now turning up on Netflix and Amazon.

No surprise Bull getting full order or KCW, although i do think KCW will drop under 2 once TBBT moves to its normal Thursday. Bit surprised they gave full 9 for Macgyver though. Would have thought it would get 5 extra. But its doing ok and fits their Friday.

I agree with this totally. They have certainly changed the dynamics. Only thing that does worry me, is that it will lead to price increases.

Looks like ABC could be getting desperate for Conviction. They are now using Castle and Body of Proof Twitter feeds to promote it. Time to switch off life support I think.

KCW's ratings will be interesting to see once it moves to it's different slot with no Big bang

I have noticed quite a few shows do really well when paired with Big Bang and then fall when taken away from it.

The Millers was a big hit for CBS when paired with Big bang. They moved it away from Big bang for it's second season and it lost half its audience and was cancelled. Mom's second season was paired with Big bang and it's audience doubled. But when season 3 was scheduled elsewhere, it saw a decline. And last season, they paired Life In Pieces with Bang bang and that was a big hit. And now Life in pieces isn't scheduled to air alongside it this season, i wonder how well it will do.

Don't understand how Bull and MacGyver get to survive but Kevin Can Wait is worth it.

Because Bull and Gyver rate well.

Yes I thought that might be the reason, but I still feel quality should sometimes trump ratings if a show is bad. And IMO they are both bad.
