Gulftastic FX have the rights to Y The Last Man and they are doing a TV show

Michael Green who worked on American Gods was recently announced as show runner for the show so it looks like it's moving forward!

Good news! I hope they do a good job of it. With the amount of material, it could run for a few years.

Once i knew of the cliffhanger and the cancellation. i didn't bother wasting my time in watching season 4. I did the same with Mistresses and I do the same with any other show that is left on a cliffhanger.

That's the television business for you though. It's been done countless times. It's annoying. But there you go

That could be interesting. The film is excellent, but i'm not sure they could carry a series that's entirely set on one train - I suppose that obvious assumption would be that they'd find a way to stop it.

If/when Elementary does get cancelled, I will certainly miss Joan's amazingly on point outfits.

For gods sake just what the heck are ABC playing at? The franchise can barely keep going so what do they do throw money at it! Yes I did read about IMAX paying something,

SHIELD etc is not the MCU. It is now obvious a totally different version and if it hadn't been tied in however loosely AOS would have been dropped after season 2.

Season 1 of Agent Carter was labelled a 'tv event' and then promptly flopped, season 2 got made because they didn't want to admit defeat. Another spin off didn't even get taken up.

And as for first two episodes being shown worldwide in cinemas, how long will anyone outside the US have to wait for the next 8 parts on the television? We are still waiting for season 4 of SHIELD to start in the UK. So guess what happens then either you get all naughty and look at less scrupulous methods of viewing up to date shows. Or you sit around twiddling your thumbs waiting till whichever channel has been foolish enough to take it on to be allowed to air the remainder of the series. And if anyone thinks this will get treated like Game of Thrones and have a simulcast worldwide, remember this is not HBO we are talking about, this is ABC.

And are we going to get references built up in SHIELD or God forbid a mini introduction.

Sorry this is not ABC being innovative, just confirmation they have lost the plot.

Yeah sorry for the rant hopefully most people can filter out the gibberish and get my point.

It does cover a number of my pet hates. ABC, for obvious reason. Worldwide tv rights, I still believe tv makers are thinking like its the 19th century. And the obsession with tv franchises, which suck.

Whilst there is a strong case for some US new shows not being available simultaneously in the UK as buyers have to be certain that it will be a financially sound decision and commercially attract ad revenue, I really cannot understand the reasons behind established shows such as NCIS being delayed for so long. It is even more strange considering the negotiations currently going on with SKY trying to reduce the money they pay for third party channels.

Don't apologise. We are all entitled to a rant. You made a good argument.

No, no, I shall not start screeching about VPNs, or illegal methods or unofficially being a resident of Delaware, or however you are forced to watch shows at US pace, just because tv companies think they can control things still.

I won't mention a recent tv film I wanted to see, that was shown in the US that the makers have now stopped replying to queries about a worldwide release. Not mentioning the fact the film is available multiple times on YouTube or to anyone with a an iTunes US account.

Just think of all that lovely revenue that VPN providers scoop up instead of going directly to those producing the shows.

Nothing is 100% confirmed, purely speculation and based on trimming episodes or not back ordering any more episodes. This and Geektown are a good source:
