Didn't know burn notice was ending until I saw it on geektown. Gonna miss it.

I need to stay away from this thread. It's a bit depressing to see how many of my favourites are cancelled.

Burn Notice has had a good run. It was getting a bit samey, so hopefully now they can give it a good send off.

Except its not that simple. They need 65 to be able to be stripped BUT most shows have episodes that can't be freely repeated usually because it wouldn't be suitable for daytime repeats which is why they generally require more. As such it comes down not to needing 88 or 100 episodes but having atleast 65 episodes (or to the nearest 5 above this) when these unsuitable are removed

Dana Delany confirmed on Twitter that no one has picked up Body of Proof so series 3 will be the final one.

I'm surprised as the movie was awful. I can't see the TV show being any better as the movie pushed stretched the premise

still no news on hannibal, but according to this, there are a number of other networks, as well as amazon, interested in picking it up should NBC bin it

I'm still going to hold off though - i'll just keep recording it and wait and see

It's probably a good idea i suppose - at least we won't get shows being cancelled having finished on a cliffhanger.”

Can't do the DVD sales any harm either. I would rather buy a box set of a show which properly ended it's story.

Can't believe Vegas has been axed with average viewers of over 7 million. I know it doesn;t have the core 18-49 demographic, but has any show previously been axed with such a healthy viewing figure?

Loads, just this year CSI: NY was cancelled this regularly gettng 8-9 million viewers and on a friday as well

Its true if Vegas was on another channel other then CBS its ratings would be great but when it comes to CBS 7 Million isn't great especially for a new show.

And as has been said, Vegas doesn’t have a good demo rating, i.e. its audience is too old for advertisers. The advertisers like young people with money to spend, not older people with mortgages and children to pay for. Sometimes its better to get less viewers in total but a high percentage of them young, than a larger overall number of viewers who are mostly older.

I would also guess that Vegas is quite expensive to make, what with the need for the period sets and Dennis Quad’s contract.

Personally I think it’s a shame Vegas has been axed, I really like the two lead characters and the recent storyline is very good.

Was Quaid on a good screw then?

I agree. I'm holding some vain hope that this will be picked up by someone else, however futile that hope is.

CBS cancelled Ghost whisperer which was one of their top shows. That averaged about 8-9 million an episode (sometimes 10 million) and was the no 1 Friday show for all of it's five seasons

They also cancelled Cold Case which got the same ratings as well.

They did the same to Judging Amy and last year to A Gifted Man.

In general, CBS are just weird with their cancellations.

Yes, I’m sure I read somewhere he was being paid a healthy sum for his role in Vegas, as is usually the case when a movie actor moves into television for the first time (assuming they haven’t not worked for several years!).

Good news. Too good a show to be cancelled (though of course you could have said that about quite a few others that bit the dust).

Showtime has cancelled their papal drama series The Borgias after airing three seasons of the series. The network made the announcement today following reports that, while the series was unlikely to return for a fourth season, it could have wrapped up its storylines with a two-hour TV movie. That will now not happen with the June 16th season finale also serving as the series finale.

And I will always resent them for that

The Borgia's is coming to an end.

Season 3 will be followed by a film to wrap up the storyline

That is out-dated (dated May 8) and inaccurate news. Showtime has canceled the show, but they refused the producer's request to finish things with a movie.

It's odd - they never seem to cancel any of the shows I like (unless they've come to the natural end).

Does this mean i'm the perfect average viewer or just that I have great taste?
