I have S3 of The Bridge, Trapped (started but lost track of it) and Blue Eyes (ditto) all on my Tivo waiting to be watched. The thing with these Scandi shows is that you have to pay good attention to them. They are no good for sticking on when you get back from the pub.

I loved Borgen. If anyone had suggested that I would become addicted to a subtitled show about Danish coalition politics I would have said they were insane but somehow it just worked perfectly.
I would recommend A Hijacking the Danish film that preceded the US Captain Philips version of a ship being attacked by pirates. It stars Pilou Asbæk on of the main characters from Borgen. I enjoyed this much more than Captain Philips but then I am a huge fan of Nordic Noir and in general World Cinema.

I'm going to have two weeks off work from next week - and i'm not even pretending to myself that i'm going to do anything productive - so am ready to start a few more series.

I had an amazing run with Scandi drama until 'The Legacy', which I found extremely dull.

Trapped looks good. I really should watch season 2 of the killing though.
On a much lighter and funnier side try "Rita" the Danish comedy drama available on Netflix. It centres on Rita a school teacher, her stubborn anti establishment attitude, her wild sex with just about anyone she fancies, her chaotic home and personal life but it is funny and in series two and three develops into a much deeper series exploring how she helps different children cope with different pressures and those that are seen as outcasts from society.

Blunt Talk cancelled by Starz after 2 seasons. This was a scripted comedy starring Patrick Stewart.

I tried the first episode of that and it was horrible. Came across as a in-joke between Seth Macfarlane and Patrick Stewart.

I'm not sure The Crown is my kind of thing but Stranger Things is the best TV I've seen in 2016. For Xmas, I have Westworld, Black Mirror and a few Scandi-noir shows saved up.
Ditto with Stranger Things and can't wait for season 2 ! In regards to Scandi-Noir, the genre is quite new to me. I recently finished watching Modus on BBC4, and have to say I really did enjoy it. Obviously I have nothing to compare it to, but now I've got a taste for it, I'm looking for my next Scandi Fix .

I've thought about Westworld, have them all on the Sky box, so thats another to think about.

Rita is brilliant

Hjordis, the spin off, not so much.

I loved The Legacy.

The Scandis do some excellent domestic and family dramas as well as the noir.

I also loved 30 Degrees in February and Thicker Than Water of that ilk.

Are you sure you updated this site? Tried putting 'cancel' into the search engine and zippo. Nada. Zilch. Had to rely on good ole Control 'F'. How pathetic.

Anywho, no one seems to be very upset at Blunt Talk being canceled. Really? Brilliant show. Acting, directing, writing - intelligent, engaging, and the show left us wanting more. The people who don't like the idiotic Ace vs the whomsoever's blood he's spurting at the moment, that is, according to Variety*. The people who know Shameless sucks, and The Affair is tripe, and Homeland is akin to beating a dead horse.

Ah well, the idiots can rest easy, knowing their moronic shows will never go off the air. Witness Survivor and all of Simon Cowell's tripe.

We 'halfsies' will continue to have our intelligent, brilliant shows ripped out from under us.

The site hasn't been updated yet it was just a migration of user data. The real update is coming soon.

It appear as though Girl Meets World may well be ending. Disney Canada listed season 3 ep21 as the series finale. This was then taken down, but has not been replaced to say that it is a season finale. So it looks as though they may have jumped the gun on an expected announcement.

Just to update on this, Rider Strong has said in his podcast “We finished the third season of Girl Meets World — my brother and I were directing a lot of episodes and I acted in a couple — and the show ended,”

No official confirmation from Disney though yet.

I'm probably the only person in the universe that enjoyed it (it got generally bad reviews for no obvious reason), but I keep wondering if the Mena Suvari "South of Hell" show will ever get renewed for a second season. It's been in limbo for a year now, but only airing the final season 1 episode on iTunes was a colossally bad decision.

It took me 11 months to even realise there was an 8th episode and that was only because I wandered onto the Wikipedia page and saw it mentioned there. Yes, episode 7 did end on a cliffhanger so I thought it was getting ready for season 2...how wrong was I (on both counts it seems)?

It was certain to happen soon as they did the election thing. The question is when will it air. At 10 episodes it could air from September on a Thursday if they keep comedy their and be finished before NBC starts to air football.

Awesome news. Wonder what that means for Eric McCormack's other show the travelers unless he can do both.

Not sure how I feel about this. Huge, huge fan of the original and have the whole series stored on my NAS drive that i've watched multiple times, but it ended - and ended well as well (at least I thought so).

The fact that Leslie Jordan has confirmed it as well suggests that Beverley Leslie will return which will, in effect, ignore the storyline from the final episode that allowed Jack to inherit his fortune.

Obviously i'm still going to watch and i'll probably love it, but i suppose there's a part of me that is still a bit hesitant.

It was called Tripped. It was a mini-series, no idea if it will air any more episode as none planned by the look of it, Blake Harrison has not done any more so far.

I too am a huge fan of the original series, but I felt that the final episode just didn't work for me. The pre-election 'special' was like they had never been away. I do wonder if the episode number is a set figure or will it get extended with additional episodes ordered.

If Will & Grace brings in decent numbers could we see NBC exploring the return of Friends?
