Has some news come out about it or is that just a random thought?

I can't imagine the amount of money CBS earns from this show as a whole. It's a huge ratings winner and is popular around the world, plus it's already in syndication.”

This is why all the networks are throwing as many comedies as they can and see which are a success.

All the networks are trying to find the next "Modern Family" and/or next "The Big Bang Theory".

It's a reponse to the recent ratings that i posted about it. Why are you questioning my post in a sarcastic manner?

I wasn't but you didn't exactly make it clear what you were actually referring to.

A&E have pulled original crime drama Those who kill after two episodes. The show stars Chloe Sevigny.

This thread is for cancellations or renewals, so when some starts mentioning SHIELD as a victim I assumed the worst...

I actually wouldn't be surprised to see in a year or two that they announce that Season 10 will be the final one though.”

It was a 3-year renewal last time, too, but what's strange is that reports say that the cast hasn't been tied up yet, so the network appears to have put themselves in a poor negotiating position by announcing the renewal already... that's going to be one enormous truck of money backing up to Jim Parsons' house when the time comes...

Assuming all goes well, it's hard to believe it'll go on past season 10, but maybe they could get a movie out of it too - the characters would actually be quite suited to a daft big-budget one-off scenario like time-travelling or an alien invasion...

I was worried about Mom. It's actually rather funny. Funnier than i ever thought it would be. and this is coming from someone who is very picky about what sitcoms to like. Glad it's coming back.

Shocked at the amount of renewals so soon. I thought perhaps only a few would be announced

Not looking good for the crazy ones and the mentalist. These are bound to be cancelled because they will need room for new shows, considering about 90 per cent of their shows are coming back anyway.

I reckon season 10 will be the final season for two and a half men.

So Person of Interest Season 4 which C5 will likely show in 2016 ..

But hooray as well for that, CSI, H5O, Blue Bloods, Elementary, 2 Broke Girls and Two and a Half Men.

Just hope Grace Park decides to leave H5O so that Michelle Borth can replace her ..

It'll be Two and a Half Men's twelfth season but yeah I agree. It's done well to last four years without Charlie Sheen.

I've just noticed yet another DS report about a channel (Sky this time) dropping a bunch of American TV shows - notably Supernatural, which always seemed to have a huge UK fanbase. I guess that dedicated part of the fanbase got tired of waiting for Sky to show the new seasons, and went in search elsewhere, affecting the ratings.

This seems to be something happening over and over again recently. Maybe I've just never paid attention in previous years, but it does seem much more prevalent that the major UK networks are canning their US imports in huge numbers. The other part of that is the question of where does this leave even new shows coming to the UK? I mean, is it worth the viewer investment in a show, when a purchase of a series is seemingly so uncertain on UK channels. Netflix seems to be the sole answer to so many problems these day - and perhaps the only sensible choice in terms of accessinga reliable, and minimally delayed broadcast of US shows. There seems to be a future not too far away when the main UK channels will simply have just a tiny fraction of overseas content - I think that makes for poor viewer choice to be honest.

Its not just you, I think it’s fair to say that we’ve recently seen a lots of examples of UK broadcasters dropping US programmes that haven’t been cancelled in the US, more than is normally the case.

But I don’t think it’s a case that UK broadcasters are moving away from US content, more a case of them dropping programmes with dropping ratings in the hope that they’ll pick up something new that can deliver higher ratings. For example Sky have just dropped ‘Supernatural’ and ‘Cougar Town’, but have just picked up ‘About a Boy’ and ‘Star Crossed’. Equally Channel 5 have dropped a number of US programmes recently but have picked up NCIS: LA (which although already on Sky, is new to them) and given it a primetime slot on their flagship channel.

The current model UK broadcasters seem to be following is – pick up a new US programme, hope it’s a hit, if it is then wait until the ratings start to drop a bit a few seasons down the road and drop it, then replace it with another US programme that will hopefully provide the big ratings again until they start to drop a few seasons down the road, and so on……
