That makes me so mad about Happy Endings..
It had 2 potential buyers, and it was ready for cable...but it was SONY themselves that f^cked up on the deal???

Heartbreaking..

That makes no sense, why would Sony pull out of a deal that sands to make them money? And given the fact Sony have been known to make insane deals in order to reach syndication numbers, I very much doubt it's true...

(Not that I care, didn't watch past the first episode..)

Well in my opinion. They seem to keep shows that are dragging on. Revenge, modern family, the following etc. I really like Believe and would be gutted if it did not get a new series.

I have never seen Happy Endings so cannot comment on the show itself. But I don't believe Sony were to blame on the potential continuation of the show. When the show was cancelled by ABC, Sony had potential buyers in place but pricing as well as marketing investments were the main issues along with low ratings. They ended up having to cut their losses as they couldn't find a new home for the show.

Blimey, no way. That has really peeved me off. Bad enough if was finishing, but a shortened final season. Not happy.

Only 6 episodes? Shame. Once you go to the effort and cost of getting the set, cast, and crew back together I’m surprised they are only making 6 more episodes. I’m guessing its more to do with Sorkin only wanting to write 6 epsiodes.

Yep according to this the cast are tied in and HBO is still keen if he changes his mind

So ep1 they get back together
ep2 she breaks things off
ep3 they see other people
ep4 they realise they should be together
ep5 they break up
and ep6 they're about to get back together but the whole news crew gang up and beat their sorry indecisive asses to pulp for making them endure this endless love run-around fooey

Isn't the reason for The newsroom ending is because of the continuous creative differences the show has had since day 1. I know they scrapped the whole of season 2 and it had to be re-written.

i never know what to believe about what goes on with that show. there was a long running rumour that sorkin had fallen out with olivia munn which he very emphatically denied when asked about it.

It's a shame it's getting a shortened final season but I suppose I wouldn't put it past Sorkin being tied up with other projects already and this is why he can only write 6 episodes.

Devious Maids just retuned to tv this week. It's too soon to know whether they're getting a season three pick-up.

No decision on Revolution either way, it's looking likely to be cancelled though...

Has anyone picked up any indications recently on Hart of Dixie or The Mentalist, up to date (Us Pace) on both shows and thinking they are both improving - although aware that both are looking likely to get the axe.

I'm sure I read on DS that The Mentalist was being offered around other networks but I could be wrong

That's a shame but sadly was expected.

They really wasted the opportunity to make a good scifi show.

The cast were good and the FX were good, but some of the stories were too pedestrian and flow of the series was too disjointed.

I agree. That's why i'm not too disappointed by it.

Maybe showing the episodes in order, would've helped improve the consistency of the show. But it doesn't detract from the lacklustre individual stories.

That's a shame - I was looking forward to watching that next week but I won't bother now. I know Karl Urban was pitching quite hard for it to come back, even implying he'd never do television again if it wasn't renewed.
