I cant understand why great shows like revoloution get cancelled,yet garbage like friends runs for years.look how popular sci fi is at the cinema but for some reason not so much on tv.

Revolution is the wrong type of sci-fi and the concept is hammy at best...

And why has everybody suddenly crawled out of the woodwork to start slagging off Friends? It doesn't affect them anymore, if they don't like it, they can avoid it...

Community is co-produced by Sony Pictures Television and Universal Television. Parks & Rec is solely produced by Universal Television. If NBC had to pick one over the other it was always likely to be Parks and Rec...

You can not compare a sci-fi show's run to a sitcom's run
Both shows appeal to different audiences


It's ratings were crap, so it was cancelled
Friends was one of the biggest shows on television, so they kept it running

It is not hard to see why one lasted and the other didn't

I gave up on the CSI franchise a long time ago but i really like Patricia Arquette so i am so checking it out. After wowing me for 7 years in Medium, it's lovely to see her back where she belongs.

This post makes no sense, shows get cancelled and jobs are lost as a result all the time, I'm smarting about Community being axed but that's the way the cookie crumbles.

I take it you would rather keep shows on air because a few jobs may be lost even though they are tanking, that would make no financial sense whatsoever.

But to be fair NBC did play fair with the show and its fans with its support over the last few years so I'm not going to criticise them for giving it the axe, Suburgatory after the first two seasons was treading water with no where to go pity that Revenge has not been axed as well, at best it was a two season show, I gave up after the start of the third season as again it was going nowhere.

Oh please don't be so touchy.. It was a light hearted joke. I mean, seriously. Did you not see the wink? Move on.

They'll all be in mourning at the Onion AV Club then.

This is a surprising big story- "Community is cancelled" was a
headline on the RTE News today, even though Irish TV doesn't show the exploits of Annie Edison and co.

So pleased about this, dire concept, lousy script now Ms Anderson can get back to The Fall.
