Jane the Virgin picked up by E4
Very clever buy for E4. I expect this to do very well for them.

It's in a similar vein to Ugly Betty and if you liked that you will like this. The lead is very likeable plus it's funnier and rather quite charming if you're into that sort of thing.

Same here, as silly as it is. They really need to be looking towards bringing it to a close though. They can't really drag it out much longer.
My exact thoughts. Hopefully the third will be full of no filler episodes, and the story is much more coherent. Though the silliness will always be a part of a concept like this one.

I'm also happy for Extant's renewal, as I enjoyed that too (though it's far slower than Under the Dome).

I'm pretty surprised that Selfie hasn't got a UK home already. Given it's British star - and Karen Gillen is a pretty big name - I'd expect one of the major broadcasters to have taken this up. It seems the natural successor to things like New Girl and The Mindy Project, so E4 would be the most obvious choice for it.
My first thoughts were ITV2 to pick this up.

I thought it would be. The last episode was definitely a 'we know we won't be back' type episode.

It's a shame, I quite liked it but something was missing.

When does Young and Hungry return in the US?

Also, BatB 3rd season? Which surely shouldn't even have been renewed.

Predictions of first cancellations...

A to Z, Manhattan Love Story and Gracepoint.

I think Bad Judge could escape cancellation. I mean, Parenthood is in its final season, and Parks and Recreation is going to air its final season too and with potentially A to Z gone, would they really axe Bad Judge when it does as best is it possibly can on the flop NBC Thursday slot.

I think NBC could have a hit with Fridays this year. I mean for three years, Grimm has been a reliable show for NBC Fridays, but Dracula, Hannibal airing after never did very well, but I reckon Constantine may do very well.

Young and Hungry is back next year.

Beauty, i haven't a clue.

I think your right salv, they may be the cancellations. Plus Mulaney, which is easy to replace with reruns of other shows.

Bad Judge, i am not sure about this show. A full season pick up? More than likely. A second season? Not sure. With parks and recs bowing out next year there could be a slot for another existing comedy show. But that all depends if Marry me continues to do well, after a brilliant debut this week.

Parenthood ending leaves a one hour slot ready for an existing one hour show which could either be Laura or the Katherine heigl show (if a success)

I think Constantine will be a success for NBC, as you say, it has Grimm which is always a winner for Fridays.

Rumour mill suggests sometime between December and March, but don't quote me on that.

The Show or the fact it has been renewed?

IMO it is a weaker version of 'The Walking Dead' and thus not good that it has been renewed.

But other people might like its 'Asylum' style.

Haven't seen but don't wish to as I know i won't make it past the pilot. Any shows where the world is in danger through a virus or a terrible event bore me senseless.

Looks like season 3 was a bridge too far.

I'll get my coat.

It doesn't take itself as seriously as walking dead. The acting can be a bit wooden (though it's early days) and it's suprisingly watchable

If you like actual zombies rather than existential angst it's a lot more fun, and at least they don't spend half a series planting crops

Terrible dialogue, terrible actors (they get a bit better as the season goes on) and the SFX are a bit ropey but I'm still watching it 6 episodes in.

Mainly cause it doesn't take itself too seriously.

I don't think TWD takes it's self too seriously. It just centres more on the characters and the emotions, more than just going around killing zombies and people being killed. It's less about trying to find why it has happened, and more on living with what has happened and how to survive.

Yeah don't read too much into my comment - I didn't say WD takes itself too seriously, rather Z Nation doesn't take itself seriously. There's a bit of tongue in (or hanging through) cheek; it's often funny and just less grim.

It just centres more on the characters and the emotions, more than just going around killing zombies and people being killed. It's less about trying to find why it has happened, and more on living with what has happened and how to survive.
I agree. Problem is the emotions are predominantly angry or depressed. It's more realistic of course but a bit of a downer.

I still enjoy both shows mind

Here Comes Honey Boo Boo has been cancelled
A whole season has been filmed but will apparently not air

The show has been cancelled as the mother has been dating a convicted sex offender who abused an 8 year old family member of hers. She strongly denies this.

Constantine seems to have been picked up by Amazon as they are showing the first episode it seems straight after it's been shown in the US!

Predictions of first cancellations...

A to Z, Manhattan Love Story and Gracepoint.
ABC has pulled Manhattan Love Story after 4 episodes, replacing it with a second episode of Selfie which will run back-to-back from 8pm on Tuesdays.

Selfie has yet to receive an additional episode order. 3 additional scripts were ordered less than a fortnight ago (as they were for Manahattan Love Story) which keeps the writers working while networks evaluate ratings performance, but this is far from any kind of commitment to retain the show. Given they're now burning off episodes at twice the rate, unless it suddenly improves its share I don't give Selfie much of a future and suspect it'll be done by Thanksgiving.
