With Bad Judge and A to Z already gone, and Parks and Rec on its last season, surely for the non-freshman shows on air on NBC, they are safer now that they have already cancelled two comedies?
Eg. About A Boy. It has dropped a lot and could only muster a 1.2 last week, but they surely need to have a few comedies for NBC? And not new ones? ,Marry Me might be renewed, depending on how much it falls, but AAB being in its 2nd season, could get another season if it stays in the 1.2+ region? They need to bring in two more comedies for the NBC slot don't they for Thursday? So, what I'm saying is that AAB should be safer now that two comedies have already been axed. There are literally no "certain" for renewals for NBC apart from The Blacklist. (and obviously The Voice), but I will hold Grimm up there too, as it will hit syndication numbers on its last episode of this season. Constantine is a waiting game, we'll see.
With ABC getting rid of MLS, and possibly Selfie too, I'm hoping Forever can make it, but I am not too sure. It's probably on the bubble at the moment to see how bad/good other shows are doing. What I am quite certain of is that the Wednesday comedy block will remain exactly the same next season? The Middle and Modern Family, veteran shows which are still performing well, "comeback kid" The Goldbergs and new comedy Black-ish which has surpassed all expectations will all be back. I expect a S2 renewal for Black-ish in by the new year.
CBS is tricky, but will The Millers keep dropping? If it does, then could it be in danger? The McCarthy's if it drops fro it's not very impressive premiere will be in trouble and maybe replaced with Mike and Molly?
FOX- Brooklyn Nine Nine is getting renewed, it's so odd how a change of day improves a shows performance so much, just like The Goldbergs. (and Mom if it holds in the mid 2s, up from the high 1s average it has in S1).
CW has obvious renewals, veteran show hero, Supernatural; older shows such as The Vampire Diaries (which may get a last season next year?), Arrow and The Flash which are certain renewals. Survivor against all odds, Beauty and The Beast, who knows? It could last another 3 years if CW want it to. The Originals in theory should be safe with ~0.6. Jane The Virgin I think is in danger.
Overall, there are two overall winners for freshman shows this year... ABC with Blackish and How To Get Away with Murder and CW with The Flash. We kind of expected very good numbers for The Flash, but I seem to remember before Blackish started that people expected it to be a mid- high 1s demo show, so it certainly has surprised people.
