Considering how hugely successful Orange and Cards have done, it's no wonder Netflix have ruled out picking up existing shows. They have tons of new shows in the works for the next two years. Marco Polo premieres next month.

I think Arrested and The Killing were just the lucky ones. Who knows, Netflix may pick up another cancelled show in the near future but it seems to be a thing that if a show is cancelled, people automatically look to Netflix.

and I just looked and sadly Franklin and Bash ends on a cliffhanger. Thankfully i am not a fan as i would be so pissed.

Personally I didn't treat it as a cliffhanger.

In a way it was the F&B way to have an uncertain future be the end of the show.

The show would have just carried on in a similar vein which ever way the ball rolled.

Unfortunately it does not. There certainly are some plot threads that aren't fully resolved.

That said, the season is certainly worth watching if you've seen the first three as it's more of the same and still pretty good.

Oh that's a shame.

At least we still have half a season left.

The second half of the procedural’s third season is still slated to continue in February

Gutted and it has been confirmed there will be a cliffhanger. Curious to know why. The ratings have been good.

May as well delete all of season 3 from my virgin plus then. No point wasting my time on something that will just end on a cliffhanger

So gutted. I do not like a lot of crime shows but this one i really did.

TNT is having a change in output a "brand evolution"

God only knows what " more dual (male-female)" means, but I think in the short term their fluffier shows are being binned F&B and Perception being part of this

Is that a recent quote from Kevin Reilly platelet?.

Just wondered because of Legends being mentioned as the type of show he wants to see, and wondered if that meant it may be coming back?.

As for the news about Perception, it was a show I really tried to like, and tried more than once to get into, but lost interest before the end of season 1. Just couldn't like the main character......

I would be shocked if Legends came back. It's ratings were poor. Not as low as franklin and bash, but it was earning 1 million less than Perception.

Actually having re-read the article I think the quote came from David Levy (Turner Broadcasting President) it's not exactly clear which was talking - but yes it's recent, the article was 4th Nov:

Shows like The Last Ship, Major Crimes and Rizolli and Isles are safe as they rate well but TNT shaking up their programming is good as it seemed their crime dramas were CBS on cable.

As long as TNT still plans on doing Teen Titans I am all good.

The Titans series will likely happen unless the pilot turns out terrible and Turner who owns TNT is owned by Time Warner who also own DC so it's good synergy

It's official. Plans are being negotiated for Netflix to bring back Longmire.

Thanks for the link, will peruse it later.

As for Legends, if the head honcho wants that type of programme on the network, then there is hope, (no matter how small) that it could return.....

The Millers has been cancelled by CBS, not surprised really although I imagine Itll be replaced by Mike and Molly, doesn't bode well for The McCarthys as CBS has The Odd Couple ready although I think it wont air until January or February which may give The McCarthys a little longer

I expected it to run for the whole season but not to be cancelled half way through filming the season.

The Mindy Project has been given 6 extra episodes. Originally given 15, season 3 will now have 21.

I'm surprised by this. TV By The Numbers has it as certain to be renewed.

I really liked season one. This year not so much. Didn't like the new character played by Sean Hayes. That actor doesn't seem to have much range, this is the third show I have seen him in, but still only the first Character.

That's just Tv by the number's guess. They had it down as a renewal before it premiered. Their predictions are just their own personal predictions.

Sean Hayes can only play stereotypical gay men. That's why his roles have been limited since the end of will and grace. He has zero range.

Big mistake on TVBTN who seemed convinced The Millers would be renewed! Should have kept Friends With Better Lives!

TVBN's prediction was made before Season 2 began airing, and was based entirely upon the premise that The Millers is a 100% CBS-owned show which could be pushed to 4 seasons and a stream of ongoing syndication revenue for CBS.

Reference is made here to Warner Bros, who make an absolute packet out of syndicating successful sitcoms that they own (e,g, Two and a Half Men, TBBT), and CBS' desire to have a piece of the sitcom pie themselves - I'm struggling to rhink of a recent 'big name' sitcom that CBS actually own that has been anywhere near as successful as the Warner Bros shows.

As to Fox's dithering over Mindy Project, who knows what that is about? Fox have a new show slated for Spring 2015 called Weird Loners which has only been given a 6 episode order. Given that Mindy's order has been extended by the same number, it seems highly likely that Weird Loners has been yanked from the spring schedule and the extra Mindy episodes will plug the gap.

This might be because Fox executives have seen the first couple of completed episodes, realised it is a dud and cancelled it already never to air, or only as a 'burn off' in the weak summer months. Alternatively the Fox bosses could be pleased with the footage so far, have more confidence in the show's concept and be about to give Weird Loners an extended order rounding it out to a 13 or 22 episode season which will be held over until Autumn 2015-16.

FWBL was owned by 20th Century Fox Television. The theory is that CBS preferred to keep alive one of their owned shows and benefit from lucrative syndication deals later on.

That clearly didn't work out for them, and the likes of Sean Hayes, Will Arnett, Margo Martindale, Beau Bridges and Greg Garcia probably don't come cheap so given the poor rating this season CBS doubtless concluded it is not ever going to be enough of a hit to score big in syndication deals so hard to justify dragging it out to the "magic 88" episodes in the hope of turning a profit down the line.

The only other CBS-aired sitcom owned by CBS Television Studios is The McCarthys, plus the upcoming Odd Couple remake with Matthew Perry. Given that the former isn't exactly setting the world alight yet and Perry is rumoured to be having susbtance issues again I don't see CBS having a lot of success with those shows.
