i was looking forward to seeing if that was any good as it had a good cast but clearly something went wrong.
I watched about 4 episodes and really tried to like it but couldn't and IMO didn't have the chemistry among the cast that the likes of Criminal Minds has.

I don't think it helped by having the Penelope Garcia character doing the same job for the new team as well as the CM team.

My thoughts exactly.

Not strictly always true, there has been the odd instance where international viewership has saved a show from cancellation, and I'm not talking about shows that have been co-produced with international broadcasters.

Shamefully though I cannot remember the names of a show as it was a few years ago now. But I do agree that 99/100 the international market makes no difference.
Baywatch is the most famous example I can think of, cancelled by NBC after one season but shifted into first-run syndication in the US on the back of strong international sales.

"The Listener" returned this year due to international sales, however that was produced by FX Networks (International?) which meant the rules were slightly different than usual shows.

For ABC, I'll watch Pan Am, Charlie's Angels and Revenge in the 'fall'.

They're holding back so many promising series though with Good Christian Belles, Missing and Scandal.

I'm shocked to say I prefer NBC's offering to that of ABC.

Loving Smash, The Playboy Club and Free Agents.

Meanwhile at ABC, the trailers seem poor (especially the Pan Am scene - surely theres one more thrilling than that?) however Pan Am does seem like the only one I'll watch, along with The River. None of the comedies really scream out a hit to me, they all seem to have gone back a few years compared to the likes of Modern Family, The Middle and Cougar Town - they seem more modern in comparison to the new ones somehow...

A-ha! The one non-procedural (i.e. cop/medic/lawyer) pilot the decidedly formulaic CBS greenlit, they then passed on, handing it off to the junior network.

Happy that The Good Wife is renewed but to put it head to head with Desperate Housewives is risky.

has A&E's Breakout Kings been renewed?
A&E usually annouce cancellations / renewals for their shows a few weeks after they end their runs. breakout ends next week so we should know sometime before / during June.

This applies to many cable nets who don't hold Upfronts during the regular Upfronts season, but instead annouce pick ups t/ cancellations and renewals throughout the year due to their not following the same "Pillot season" protocol as the mainstream nets.

Just seen the trailer for Awake with Jason Isaacs.. looks good (well, Jason does) but seems to me it can't be a long term concept?

Also Terra Nova looks ok but raises loads of questions (or it does if you're a fan of Julian May!).
