I'm guessing it's not launching on Netflix in the UK as Amazon has the streaming rights to Warner Bros shows and I think Channel 5 have the rights to air Longmire in the UK.

I'm hoping this doesn't mean fans of cancelled shows will assume Netflix or Amazon will save their shows because these are the exception and not the norm.

It'll stream on Netflix in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Although I suppose now they're paying for season four it may eventually end up on Netflix globally as well and quite possibly not on Amazon. Be interesting to see if they launch them all at once or do weekly releases as they did with The Killing (although The Killing still had a broadcast home in the US and this doesn't).

Depends on what deal Channel 5 and Amazon have with Warner Horizon, if the existing deals with Longmire include the fourth season then Netflix can't do anything about it.

Happy for fans but think there are much more deserving and much better shows who are deserving of being picked up much more than Longmire and The Killing.

Hhmmm, if Forever is certain for cancellation it's made me wonder if it's worth carrying on with it.

As an aside though, if a long running show comes to an end, as it appears to suggest with CSI, i do think it's a little unfair to say it's been "cancelled" as it implies it's failed in some aspect.

I have all of forever so far recorded. If it's cancelled but somehow doesn't end on a cliffhanger, i will still give it a go. If not, it will be deleted. This is why i don't check shows out until i hear of a renewal or at least become aware it doesn't end on a cliffhanger, to save myself disappointment and to also save myself time and energy.

Yes that's what I thought when they mentioned 'Hot In Cleveland' too.

'Not renewed' is a better way of putting it.

Ever heard of the saying "it's the journey that counts, not the destination"?

Yeah, Gracepoint won't be renewed (the team were informed quite some time ago). The Fox execs were all pretty impressed with Tennant though and one is actively looking for a new vehicle for him. HCertainly he has a lot of other American stuff and offers lined up if he can fit it into his schedule. He's took two separate trips to LA since he finished Broadchurch last month which I hear were highly profitable!

I'll probably watch a few more as I actually do quite like it and the overall quirky feel it has. I can easily leave it to stack up as i've got loads of other stuff to watch.

'Not Renewed' is a good term actually, I quite like that. Or even something like "brought to an end".

Nope

I have explained a few times on here my personal viewing perferences for tv shows

I have a strict no cliffhanger policy. It saves me time and disappointment.

The streaming services themselves are suffering from this, a few people were a bit pissed off when Yahoo! Screen failed to revive Enlisted (after actively begging Sony to let them pay for season 6 of Community). But this seemed a little unfair to me as, as far as I know, Yahoo! never said anything about reviving it, and nobody on the show said anything about it, it was just mentioned in the trades as a possibility....

The suggestion is that it was dropped because it skewed old, and A&E can't make money from old viewers and it's hard for them to monetise content they don't own in other ways, so A&E simply couldn't make money from it. Since none of that matters for Netflix it could and hopefully will (for the fans - I've never seen it) run for several more years.

I think it is worth it. We have found out it got a full season with quite a lot of episodes left, and with the very possible cancellation, they will most likely end it properly and not as a cliffhanger.

I was reading that with the CW it's so close that one tenth of a rating drop could be the difference between cancellation and renewal.

Is it confirmed that 3rd season of beauty and the beast is the final season I know it's a shortened run.

No it hasn't been confirmed that season 3 is the final but it's more than likely going to be. Unless there is sudden ratings increase.

At the lower end of the spectrum you can effectively discount ratings on The CW. There's likely going to be so little difference between the numbers of Jane the Virgin, Reign, Beauty and the Beast and Hart of Dixie for example by the end of the season that the deciding factor is going to be their value away from the network (streaming and international sales) and how exactly The CW development slate shakes out in terms of genre, gender appeal and the all-important split between WB and CBS produced shows. Unless of course they just cancel all of them I suppose but that seems a little unlikely at this point.

To fill spots for the schedule for the rest of the season is my guess. But then a midseason show could easily have replaced Forever.

Honestly Ioan Gruffudd has the worst luck. First Ringer then Forever. I really enjoy it as it's an easy watch, not riveting but I like him , Alana de la Garza and Judd Hirsch.

I guess that HBO keeps everything going until the shows producers decide to stop?

Some have commented that HBO tend to cancel "under performing" shows after 2 seasons!
