'The 100' will be cancelled of the three. It's likely the most expensive and niche show. But 'Jane The Virgin' could easily be scrapped, considering it's just into its first season.
They should have saved 'The Tomorrow People' over 'The 100'.

Not that TTP was any good anyway.

Given the nature of the 100, and the fact it's getting the best ratings of the three, I'm wondering if the CW could easily cut costs, by moving somewhere with better tax incentives or killing off half the cast, and then make it a full length season to get it up to syndication faster...

The question is really, will The CW commit to two more seasons of Reign to get syndication numbers, even if it rates poorly. And if they aren't willing to do that, could they kill off that many shows? I suppose it depends how much confidence they have in their midseason line up, which appears to consist only of iZombie and The Messengers.

I think it'll go down to the wire, and we could potentially see renewals of all three if The CW panics or midseason goes disastrously.

The 100 aint doing that bad

0.6 demo is pretty average for The CW

Reign and Jane will likely see the axe. Reign must be expensive as it is filmed in two different countries (canada and ireland) and re-creating the 1500's isn't cheap as well. Also, it hasn't been sold to a lot of countries outside of the US and the ones it has been sold to, it hasn't rated well.

Reign and Jane are the only shows of the three distributed by CBS Television Distribution, and given Warner Bros. distributes all three of the successful shows on the network, the 100 and one of their midseason shows (iZombie - DC adaptation from Veronica Mars' Rob Thomas), one of them may be saved for political reasons...

Leverage could be returning as a tv movie. The show was cancelled back in 2012 after five seasons, despite great ratings.

Now THAT I'd pay to see, especially if it's the same cast

Good news for fans of Supernatural. It's found a new home in the UK. E4 has picked it up and will begin showing it from January.

I don't know if this means they will air it from the very start or begin showing the latest season. I don't watch it myself, but Supernatural fans must be happy.

Should be. They've all been working since the show finished, but nobody has really landed any major series or movie commitments so I can't see why they couldn't all get back together.

I'd certainly pay to see it as well. Who knows?. If it took enough money, maybe the show would get picked up again?.

TVWise says first run of seasons 9 and 10. Seems odd that E4 would take it without repeat rights for previous seasons though.

I'm wondering if it was part of a package deal (although with what? Unless they were renewing previous deals, nothing on WBTV's upcoming slate looks of interest, except maybe iZombie) or was simply going cheap as Warner Bros. got desperate?

I feel sorry for E4 if they did buy it purely because it was cheap, people have already come up with a list of shows for them to save...

Continuum renewed for 6 episode final season. Nowhere near enough time to fulfill the early promise the show had.

Superb! At least they're going to try and wrap it up.

Reading Rachel Nichols' twitter feed, she's clearly disappointed it's only 6 episodes but I think it's the right move personally. I wonder if they had to choose between six episodes at a "full" budget or more at a reduced budget ?

Anyway, I'm also kind of glad it's only six as I was getting a bit bored with the story towards the end of season 3.

Christian Kane is the male lead in The Librarians, so if that show proves to be a hit, he will more than likely be unavailable for a full series.

Fair point indeed. I know some actors have appeared in more than one series before but it's quite rare, so I suppose he would certainly have to choose if the situation arose.

Studios and networks don't like people doing more than one show for some reason, which is why John Oliver left Community first time round. Comedy Central told him it was The Daily Show or Community and he picked the Daily Show. (Rumour has it, he had it put in his contract with HBO that the only other show he can work on is Community though.)

It all depends when each show films

The Librarians filmed it's season throughout summer and autumn. If Leverage filmed it's season in perhaps winter and spring, he could easily do it.

I'm disappointed it's only got 6 episodes, too, but considering how long it's taken to reach this decision I'm glad it's at least got a chance to wrap things up.

I’m guessing the earlier seasons Supernatural are still tied up in another rights package with another broadcaster. E4 will probably get them when they become free again.

Why feel sorry for E4 if they picked up the rights on the cheap and not part of a package deal? Its a programme that already has an established audience in this country... its probably a safer bet than a new programme, particularly if its relatively cheap.

Sky living air season 4 as well. I don't think ITV2 ever did.
