I know, it makes perfect business sense for E4. I feel sorry for them, because they may end up with a lot of hassle when they don't also save Once Upon A Time and Teen Wolf, as people seem to think they should do...

Teen Wolf would have really suited a channel like E4. Think they missed a trick by not getting their hands on that.

Its just a pity that other TV channels don't treat their US shows as well as E4 as they can only show a certain amount of US shows but I would love to see Teen Wolf and Once Upon A Time on E4 as well!

TNT has renewed Rizzoli and Isles for Season 6 consisting of 18 episodes. It's largest episode order for the show.

I think it's quite weird that E4 are now the high watermark, given a few years ago this type of treatment was standard for all US shows. It does annoy me though that they insist on making some shows wait until the end of the season to start airing them, could they not rotate them, so that whilst one show is on midseason hiatus, they're premièring the other, or would that be too logical?

I doubt they could afford Teen Wolf or Once Upon A Time, especially the later (which to be honest, seems a little bit out of their target demographic anyway) and it seems like bad business if they're paying full price and can't get repeat rights for previous seasons. At least Supernatural has a hungry audience of people willing to watch it, but were pissed at the way Sky Living treated it...

Good news, it is a very easy to watch and enjoyable show. Would do a good job for the BBC in the afternoon in the old Murder She Wrote slot.

Seems that even ex NCIS cast members inherent the 'hit' gene of that show when they move on.

Very much agree that it's a very easy watch. The chemistry between the three main women on the show goes a long way towards that as well.

Glad it's been renewed.

Good news for fans of the show, but a bit weird given that TNT are re-imaging and have axed a few other programmes because they don’t fit in with their planned new ‘image’. I would have put Rizzoli and Isles on that ‘hit list’ too.

But Rizzoli And Isles is a genuine ratings hit. There's "changing programming philosophy" and there there is just shooting your company's financial bottom line to pieces.

Another one for the show?

I hope that it does better than the last attempt. I can remember reading that one of the reasons it failed was due to the lead character and still showed how racist America still is - that and the show was awful

I suppose it's an attempt to make it a franchise again. CSI and NCIS have all had hugely successful spin-offs.

I think with Criminal Minds, there can be only one show. They jet around America solving their case of the week, which I feel limits any spin off show. Perhaps they should considering a spin off about the FBI itself which would lead to a much more varied mix of stories. I know that we have Legends with Sean Bean on TNT, so I am sure CBS could come up with something similar.

There won't be a lot of activity on the renewals or cancellations front around this time of the year. May is usually the main time for the upfront network meetings and that's when the real business of what stays and goes happens.

You do get early renewals during March as well, but May is the busiest month.

Sorry to be a downer, Dallas is very likely dead. When a show is cancelled, the studio has a fairly limited period in which to find a new network or the cast get released from their contracts.

Community was renewed by Yahoo! Screen very last minute (reportedly about an hour before contracts were due to expire), and that was under 2 months after NBC announced they were dropping it...

(Edit: I thought they were talking about the Dallas thread, I'm an idiot...)

Well I would very suprised if The Flash doesn't get a 2nd season so it's just when The CW announce it!

Pretty Little Liars has a new home in the UK. Netflix UK has picked up the exclusive rights to the show.

MTV UK had the show first and dropped it after 2 seasons. Netflix UK will have the first 4 seasons including the first half of the shows latest 5th season from 1st Jan with new episodes made available after it's screened in the US.

PLL has also been renewed for seasons 6 and 7.

Jane The Virgin earned the CW a Golden Globe nomination. It they win that, it's most certainly getting renewed.
