I'm really enjoying Togetherness on Sky Atlantic. It's quirky but fun. Big fan of anything involving Duplass. The best character by far is his awkward fat brother!

TV by the numbers thinks that 'State of Affairs' is certain to be cancelled. I said from the start it would be a one season show. Although still waiting for NBC to say what they are going to do.

They (TVbythenumbers) also thinks that 'Marry Me' and 'About A Boy' will be cancelled too.

Which is a shame as I like both of those. AAB more than MM.

Just read that ABC has cancelled Revenge on tvbythenumbers on a post . If true I think it was expected.

Can't see anything anywhere about Revenge.

Needs to wrap up soon anyway.

Girlfriend's Guide to Divorce has been renewed.

Can't find any news on Revenge but it sounds believable.

No shock, although SVU's fate is normally left until May. I asumme contracting Mariska for another season was no issue.

The McCarthys has been pulled from the schedule by CBS with episodes unaired, so that's dead.

Stalker is due to be replaced by CSI:Cyber before it has run out all its episode order so that looks doomed (unless Cyber tanks abysmally and is itself yanked early!)

I have a feeling Cyber may do well, especially as it's lead actress will be due to winning an oscar soon and the buzz from that could help lead to more viewers. Just a guess.

Did you watch the back door pilot? God awful imho.

If I were betting on it I'd expect it to die a death within a season

NBC has given early renewals for The Blacklist, Grimm, Chicago Fire, Chicago PD and Law & Order: SVU.

Not really any surprises there to be honest.

All the other reviews of Cyber I've seen have been positive, it could see it potentially doing quite well, probably not Earth shattering, but solid.

The CSI:Cyber premiere doesn't air until March 4th so any 'reviews' you've read are from industry-insider comments and/or members of the Television Critics Association who've received advance previews.

'Real World' opinion of ordinary viewers may or may not be as positive. I think they'll struggle to 'humanise' computer-based crimes enough to engage and enthuse audiences - it'll either be off-puttingly cerebral, or they'll go for shoehorned in 'wham bam' action and it will end up playing out like Scorpion.

And CBS already has Scorpion so why would they need a near-identical show?

It was ok but i can't judge it based on that back door pilot. I need to see it's own pilot established in it's own sets and main cast.

I was referring to reviews of back door pilot, that aired as part of CSI.

Yeah, from the back door it definitely lent towards the wham bam end of the spectrum, just seemed totally lacking in credibility even for CSI standards

Fair comment I suppose - I'll give the proper pilot a chance

In what seems to be a show that won't seem to die, Unforgettable has been picked up by A&E as Sony did a deal that it affordable for them.

There does seem to be a trend of cancelled shows being picked up but I hope fans of shows that do get cancelled realise these are the exceptions, a show with truly awful ratings isn't going to be renewed unless it's in special circumstances.

How long ago was it cancelled? I'm wondering whether they may lose a few cast/crew members because Sony's Community was renewed on the very last day possible, and that was only a couple of months after it was announced.

I never understood why CBS cancelled it the first time. It averaged between 10-12 million an episode with demos well over 2.0. It was one of the year's most successful new shows. Summer shows always rate lower, which is why when it moved to summer, it saw a huge decline in ratings. With Longmire now on Netflix, A&e only have Bates motel so i can imagine they were in need of another scripted drama. I just read on a site that Poppy and Dylan are back, but i wonder which of the supporting cast will return especially as the show was cancelled about 5/6 months ago, meaning they were all free to move on to other things. Where as Community was brought back right at the last minute with just a day or two until the cast were free of their contract. My main issue with Unforgettable was how weak the supporting cast were, so apart of me isn't bothered if the show goes under another cast revamp.

It's a shame that cancelled show, Friends with better lives couldn't be picked up by something else. I still think that was a dreadful decision to cancel it.

You will never get over that will you?
You mention it a lot

I don't blame you. I am still pissed over Ghost whisperer's cancellation. I could go on and on about that as well

We should set up a cancellation support group

I wonder how long it will last though. Longmire was cancelled because it did poorly in the demo, and A&E can't monetise a show they don't own through alternate routes. I wonder if A&E have tried to take some ownership of the show, so they can try and make enough money to cover it from other means.

From Dan Harmon's discussions about Community, when Yahoo! revived it, they also brought a chunk of the show, so I'm wondering if A&E did the same thing and are hoping to make some money from that.
