Story on DS confirming Beauty renewal, such an odd decision. What is it that is keeping the show on air? It's figures were really low (even for CW), I just don't understand the decision. Both Tomorrow People and Carrie did better last year........
It does really well in europe. It's huge in France. That's what saved it.

Rumoured but now official. Ground Floor has been cancelled after two seasons. Bizzare as it rates very well. Even higher than Cougar Town.

There must be some reason why the cw has renewed nearly everything. HOD is the only one left out of the old shows. People are speculating it has something to do with the deal with Tribune coming to an end . There is also speculation this may cause the demise of the network.

BATB is all about CBS bolstering the episode count for syndication.

At this rate it wouldn't surprise me if they do a similar thing with Heart of Dixie and give it a short final season.
They've already given it a short 'final' season.

HoD is averaging about a 0.5 Rating and a 2 Share in the Adults 18-49 dempographic and it is slightly outperforming the already renewed Reign but in spite of public dissembling by CW executives.....

* It is “not necessarily” Hart of Dixie‘s final season, [CW Boss, Mark] Pedowitz said. With only the second episode of the current season airing this Friday, “We have to see the ratings.” As for this season’s last episode, he said, “If [Dixie] ends, it’s a great series finale. And if it doesn’t end, it’s a great season finale.”
....... I'd be very suprised to see it get a 5th Season renewal. Having renewed everything else, even if both iZombie and The Messengers crash like a Malaysian airliner (too soon?) CW will want to debut 3 or 4 shows in 2015-16 so space on the schedule is already at a premium as it is.

It was being reported in mid January that both Revenge and Nashville had been cancelled, this may just be a regurgitation of that rumour. Anyone got anything more substantive?

Isn't Nashville one season away from syndication numbers and i thought it had held up reasonably consistently this season at around 1.5. I was pretty confident this was going to be renewed.

In fact on the Tvbythenumers prediction thing it has five big green smiley faces next to it, making it a certain for renewal. They look a bit like this ->

Having said that it still isn't back on more4..... so if more4 arent going to show it anymore then i don't really care either way

I have read no word on Nashville being cancelled and i doubt it will. It's a solid performer. It's boosted Nashville's economy and is a season away from syndication.

Revenge and Resurrection are the obvious cancellations. I just hope Revenge is told soon so they have time to do a wrap up. Several episodes have rated below 1.0 which is just dreadful.

Like i have said a million times before, don't refer to TVbythenumbers as the source of all information regarding tv shows's renewals and cancellations. Just because one person writes an article saying one thing, doesn't mean it will be that way.

76 episodes at the end of season 4. A 13 episode year 5 takes it up to 89 which would make things more lucrative for syndication. Given that it's a CBS/Warner co-produced show on a CBS/Warner co-owned network, I'd be surprised if they don't take the opportunity.

If anything they should have had a longer fourth season and they wouldn't have to worry either way.

Im not surpised at Revenge going its got a bit silly now I'd be very surprised if Nashville was cancelled it holds good numbers and the music from it does well on the american country charts.

ABC Exec speaks out about 'Nashville' & 'Revenge'.

http://hollywoodlife.com/2015/01/14/...oilers-season/

May contain spoilers.

“We’re lovingNashville,” he said. “We’re going to have some great announcements about people who are going to appear on Nashville. It’s a very good brand for us, so we love that show.”

Company exec in publicly claiming he/she likes the product his/her company produces shocker...

I'd take anything execs say with a pinch of salt. I lost count of the amount of shows Kevin Reilly liked at Fox that got killed weeks later..

I'm living in hope, it is one of my fave shows and I'd hate to see it go after only 3 seasons.

I really can't see Nashville going. Don't worry. It's ratings are fine. I think people have created worry for no reason

It has three 22 episode seasons? It's safe. There's no way in hell Lionsgate would let a show so close to syndication slip away from them, even if it meant taking a slight loss on it's initial broadcast...

If anything they should have had a longer fourth season and they wouldn't have to worry either way.
They had to work round Rachel Bilson's pregnancy and could only shoot from June until October when she took time away to have the baby, hence the short episode order.

I think its chances are still pretty slim, purely because the network would seem to have packed the 2015-16 slate pretty full already, but CW have been experimenting with "year round" scheduling and varying length season orders for several of their shows so they might yet still go for a 13 episode renewal order.

It all hinges on how well The Messengers (a CBS-owned show) does on Fridays in April, I suspect.

It was her husband, and I thought the reincarnation story was fantastic. But i can see why people didn't like it.
That was my favourite season! It was heartwarming and feel-good, season 5 got a little too dark for my liking but it was still good and I still miss it.

I think The Messengers is going to flop. Another show about the impending end of the world. Yawn

I think iZOMBIE will be a hit. A zombie who eats people's brains and discovers how they died. How cool and different is that?

Season 5 was meh because of how anit-climatic it was. Although i liked the 5 year time jump.

I'd be more inclined to think of iZombie as critical darling, ratings flop. I'm looking forward to it, but I'd be surprised if it lasts more than a season...

I'd agree. Pushing Daisies had a similar theme and more or less that fate. It might make two seasons but little more

Shows with very out there plots do sometimes not last long. Wonderfalls and Dollhouse also spring to mind.

Add Dead Like Me to the list.

There's probably a formula to the effect of originality being inversely proportional to duration

Or network executives are just monkeys who prefer to be copying the monkey next to them
