The companion show allows them to expand the franchise just as CBS does with CSI and NCIS.

AMC are some interesting stuff coming like Humans which is a co-production with Channel 4, The Night Manager which is a co-production with the BBC and is a miniseries plus Badlands which is a kung-fu series. I do think they should use The Walking Dead as a lead in for a new original series rather than waste it on Talking Dead. They have Preacher in development as well as Thief of Thieves, the latter which is from the creator of The Walking Dead.”

One show does not a network make, they might make a lot of money from TWD, but they could use it (re-)launch a network and make a lot more money overall.

AMC has lots of shows in development, they're known for having a very rigorous pitching process though, so just because a show's in development doesn't mean it will ever be picked up, and it could be several years before it is. (Although I think Preacher already has a pilot order.)

Has anyone spotted how many episodes the second series has been commissioned for (season one is just six)?

I'm wondering if they are planning these as a couple of mini series - say season one covering the origins of the virus up to the outbreak, then season two covering the fall of civilisation.

The short runs would make more sense that way (assuming both are just 6 episodes) - rather than for something that's going to tell a never ending story the way the main show is

I'd imagine it's 6 then 13, following the same model as TWD.

Im happy that Mom has been renewed, its a stand out laugh out loud comedy, unlike others that just smile-inducing, New Girl for one. I wanted to like Mike & Molly because of M-MC as I liked her in Gilmore Girls, but I couldnt bring myself to like the show.

Adore Mom and Mike and molly
But Mike and molly is very much plodding on longer than it should have. It either improves next season or it should be put out of it's misery.

If history is to go by we can hopefully expect some Mass CBS renewals today and it seems it started last night with Mom and Mike and Molly

Most are obvious, its more interesting to see what it isn't renewed yet, Not being renewed now isn't an automatic cancellation though as shows still get renewed in May like CSI:NY, did a few times and The Mentalist was left hanging last season before getting its final season but it does usually indicate that a show is on its last legs.

I'd guess Hawaii 5-0, both CSIs (I'd wait to see more data for Cyber before deciding between the 2) maybe The Good Wife (I'd still expect a short final season for it at worst), may miss the mass renewals if they come today

And maybe Blue Bloods?
Along with Hawaii Five O, it performs alright for Friday night standards (poor for any other day) but as both are now looking for a 6th season renewal I think CBS might be deciding which to call it a day on – and might want a bit more time to decide.
Generally speaking, Blue Bloods gets more viewers but they’re older and Hawaii Five O gets less viewers but they’re younger. I think it’ll be a hard decision, it might come down to production costs and syndication performance. However I could be completely wrong and both get renewed!

Mike and Molly and Mom's renewals only were announced because someone leaked information regarding their renewals. I don't think we were even meant to know they were renewed just yet. I will be surprised if anyone more renewals occur from CBS in a few days. I would like ABC to do some early renewals but it's rare they ever do any. They always remain quiet until May.

Good news for me. Only watched this as I was bored the other night and rushed through the other episodes as I enjoyed it so much. Glad it wont end on a cliffhanger...

Happy to see that. Certainly one of my favourite shows, even though Season 4 does seem a teeny bit less risque than the first 3. And the premise of them always being broke could wear a bit thin i suppose, but then I guess you can't have a sitcom called "2 Broke Girls" with the two leads having lots of money!

You can tell they will both be loaded at the end of the show though. I'm pleased the show got renewed Sophie is my favourite character.

I could see them doing an ending where Caroline actually gets all her money back but gives it up to stay friends with Max. It would be an utter cheese-fest but I certainly wouldn't put it past them.

Sophie has grown on me as well, i must admit. She's almost getting to "Norm from Cheers" levels of popularity with the studio audience by the looks of it - the "Hi Everybody!" gets more enthusiastic every week

That's annoying
ITV2 originally going to air it.

ITV actually picked up the rights to Gracepoint a long time ago. They were planning on broadcasting it on either ITV or ITV2, but it appears they've now decided to put it on ITV Encore, i'd guess because of its very poor ratings in the US.

Hart of Dixie is cancelled

Showrunner, Leila Gerstein has confirmed it will end and CW will make the announcement soon.

Jaime King (Lemon) and Scott Porter (George) have also both tweeted about the ending of the show.

Really sad to see this pleasant show be dropped but guess we all knew it was gonna happen - its good at least it gets a decent wrap-up but will be hard to find a suitable replacement with the same level of happiness and wonderful colours.

Pure escapism but great light entertainment.

Yes, and that is so annoying. Putting "American" at the front of a title is ridiculously commonplace. I can't help but suspect that it is all psychological manipulation, trying to play on the patriotism of most of the US public to draw attention to a show that might otherwise be overlooked.

Especially as it has a British actress in the lead. It looks rubbish anyway, not one I'll watch.

Can't help but wonder if they've shot it's chances on the international market though. I can't see something with the title "American Odyssey" appealing that widely outside the US.

I wonder if the title will remain "Odyssey" outside the US. BBC Two has UK rights, so we'll probably find out reasonably soon.

So no mention of whether it'll return or not?
