Hello everyone
I have a T-Mobile Samsung U900 Soul, probably about 3 years old now.
I have been taking pictures with it absolutely fine, took several this weekend, then some more today. All was well.
I transferred some photos via bluetooth using Samsung PC studio, as I have before, and then decided to take a couple more. I switched off the bluetooth on the phone to disconnect from PC studio so that I could use the camera, but when I went to take a photo, the viewfinder showed everything in this muted black and white effect, and nothing I do will change it back.
It's not 100% B&W, so you can make out some of the stronger colours, i.e. bright red is shown as a very washed out version of itself, but generally the colour scheme is very very grey.
I've had a look at the camera settings on the phone itself, and there all seem normal. There is a setting on there which allows you to change between sepia, black and white, normal etc, and it was set to normal as expected. I changed it to sepia and then black and white, and then back to normal in the hope that it might "reset", but it hasn't. I've switched phone off several times, removed battery, but nothing I've done has fixed it.
I hoped maybe it was just the viewfinder aspect, and that any photos I took would be the right colour when transferred to my computer, but having pulled them across they are all muted on my PC also.
One other point to note is that my phone saves every photo with a numeric reference, i.e. photo 125, photo 126. If I delete photos from my phone, the sequence continues as if they were still there, so even if I have deleted them all, the next photo I take will be saved as no. 127. The last 3 photos that I took in colour were saved as 284, 285 and 286. The new black and white ones have started the sequence again at 001, 002, 003. Whilst this may have nothing to do with it, I am wondering if the two separate situations are as a result of one action?
Does anyone have any suggestions or advice? I'd rather not buy a new phone if I don't have to at the moment!
