Fintan - NHS is full of bloody pen-pushers like him, taking resources away from front-line care...

I want to give him a huge slap, waffling on about how reuniting someone with their lost coat is the best feeling in the world - arse

He's certainly giving admin a bad name. I bet there are Ward Clerks up and down the Country gnashing their teeth. I wish he would stop singing as well

The editing on this show is fantastic. The first half hour was breathtaking. The editing really deserves some awards love, IMO.

Just watching +1.
Stabbing victim still with his fists clenched after an hour.
Doctor fished a sizable amount of gauze into the stab wound in his bottom too.
Who was blonde Nurse who seemed to be running a fair bit of the show, haven't seen her before.

Oh here's Omar, this doesn't bode well, considering what his son's just said in the piece to camera.
Then again this show likes to surprise you.

What were the young women singing in the waiting room, Gilbert and Sullivan?
Jen's got another fan in Hany's mother, he certainly went all out on his drug cocktail.

Found the epilectic chap having a fit a bit distressing to watch.
Props to Hany for doing his piece to camera.

Another good episode tonight. The one negative was that Fintan guy. Extremely annoying and uninteresting.

Yay Omar! I really did wonder if he was a goner. When the son cried on the phone you assume it was breaking the news of a death and man did Omar look horrendous when he went in. But then I started to wonder if they were making us feel like that so that we'd all be happy when he came through. Didn't he look a million per cent better when he was shown at the end?

If you watch the opening titles they show you, Love..(Colin & Esther) Life.. (the guy that got crushed by the cherry picker) and Death... Omar's Son. So when you saw him in the program you were prepared for his Dad to die. Bit sneaky really.

People lose more than just coats in A&E and are you seriously suggesting that having a lost property officer in a huge hospital is a waste of money? I'm sure the people who get their mobile phones, watches and money returned won't think so. OK so his singing was a bit annoying and I wish he would stop too - they even showed some 'proper' singing afterwards just to make the point, but he is probably one of the lowest paid members of staff in the department, Ward Clerks are generally Band 2, and works hard for the money. Not really leaching NHS resources.

Sorry to hear about your Dad by the way.

Another excellent show. I wondered when we would see
Omar's story. Had noticed his son in the opening bit every
week and thought the same as you that it would be an
unhappy ending. But they have teased us quite a bit so was
pleased at the eventual recovery

Great bit of edit again when they cut from the 3 women
singing to a guy holding his head
Also very clever at the start switching from what appeared
to be a very quiet day to all hell let loose

Jen superb again. Deals with all the chaos superbly
She really got to me last night though with the look on
her face after she told of holding someone's hand as they
passed away

By the way am I right in thinking that there was nobody
hopping in last night's show?

I thought Finton was OK, not just a Pen Pusher, behind the scenes....he was in the Front Line....making sure it all runs smoothly...well, as smoothly as the NHS can.

Another one, were you thought the Main Case with Omar was going to end sadly.....But it didn't, and Talit just being there, showed, he Loved his Father....Words, not needed.

Stab Victim, didn't look nice, all the Blood...Suicide Victim; Beachy Head next time.

Loved the Singers.
Didn't like the look of the Swearing Guy, wondering round, a lot of things not right there.

And Jacqui....she can take MY temperature, anytime.

BIB, suicide victim, you mean Hany, as for Beachy head, maybe you should have paid attention to his piece to camera.
Not that I found your 'joke' funny, don't think those involved in keeping him alive and taking care of him while he was in a Coma for 4 days would find it funny either.

Only if ward clerks are mentally retarded or think the viewers are, 'Admin bloke on the telly they're all like that'
You've assumed everyone else viewed him in a negative light too, not sure why.
Can't see how he gave Admin a bad name, it might not be right at the sharp end making life or death decisions, but Admin is as much a part of the organisation as the Doctors and Nurses.
Frees them up to concentrate on what they're best at.

Thanks for your condolences.

I never once said that a lost property officer is a waste of anything, certainly not money. I just think he was acting up to the camera. He cannot really believe that reuniting someone with lost property is a better feeling than the surgeon gets who's saved a life, or the midwife who has delivered a healthy baby.

And ironically, my dad worked in a hospital until he retired, in quite a low paid job, but he loved his work.

Just popping into the thread to say that I absolutely love this programme and think it is incredibly well made.

It's such an interesting and emotional show. I love the way they have the jokey stories, serious stories and show human relationships all at the same time. Incredibly interesting documentary series.

Kudos to C4.

Not funny, just to the point....I always have great simplify for Family's and Medical stuff who have to deal with the Fall Out of attempted suicides.....and even the Poor Train Drives, who for some, never get over...when someone jumps in front of there Train.
