Any medical people around here know how they'll deal with Dalvin's leg. That was a big and nasty gap. Emer said it was degloved (? )what will they do for him?
As soon as she said "de-gloved" I thought "gosh, I hope that's not what I think it is". And it was

I can't speak in Dalvin's case, but one of my brothers had a similar gash on his upper arm back when he was in college, right down to the bone, and had to have a skin graft (in which they cover the gap with new tissue. I was going to Google to try and find you a link but the pictures alone made me go "OH GOD NO" so I'll leave that to you ). He still has a nasty scar.

Edit: (I managed a Google. Here you go: http://http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skin_graft )

(be warned for a few graphic pictures in the article)

The placing of Dalvin's wound worried me more - right on his knee, ouch. He mentioned something about not being able to run (?) in the end credits so maybe he's having physio as well.

I think the thing with degloving is that it's not a cut, the skin and underlying tissue, muscle etc is torn off/apart.
It was below the knee wasn't it?
Lots of important muscles and tendons in that area, I'd guess.

Yeah, he's now using the Bus, but can't run for them, for a young man it must be a big jump in thinking, I suppose.
You just naturally run for Buses, you don't think about it, you do when your get old and tired, you debate whether to bother, is it worth the exertion.

Nice to see Dad's getting a bit of profile, it's usually Mum's to the fore when Accidents happen, nice to see him wanting his Dad there and Dad wanting to be there for him.

Quite. An excellent nurse is what she is, and a caring person with a very dry sense of humour. What more could you want in a medical professional?
