Just watched +1, cracking episode, from tale of chap with 48 hours to live to 'sure you don't want a flapjack?' before the first break.
Cracking episode, even though that's probably not the 'right' description, editing team played a blinder tonight, great finish with the 2 brothers, after the setup for an unhappy ending.
Not as good as Theo walking in the first program.
Where's Malcolm, I like his enthusiasm.

I won't read the thread, too many negative nancy's on here, suck any enjoyment out of the program.

Just finished watching tonights episode. This delightful series just gets better and better.

I love everything about it, from the serious to the not so serious injuries; to the little interviews from the patients afterwards. I also love the waiting area and all the idle chit chat. I love the staff and how they deal with the emergencies.

I loved the ending tonight with Nicholas making a miraculous recovery; I honestly thought he would have had a severe brain injury. I had a huge smile on my face.

Probably my favourite programme on right now.

Last night one of the doctors was telling a story about a man who was having a cigarette and was burned all over apart from the soles of his feet and that he wasn't going to survive and that they debated whether to tell the guy he was dying. Does anyone know why he got burned smoking a cigarette? I didn't hear that bit properly as there was some commotion going on outside my house. If anyone knows it would be very much appreciated.

I think the series is great, missed Jen last night. I've been watching on +1 due to The Apprentice being on at 9pm on BBC1, I do wonder if the show would be more popular if it wasn't up against The Apprentice. Hopefully it will get a repeat for those who forget about Ch4 +1.

The doctor said (I think) that he'd smelled gas, was on the 'phone reporting it and did what he always did - leaned against the wall and lit a cigarette.

Blinder of a show again last night. The 2 young lads were everything that
those idiot girls weren't last week. A frefreshing change to see their attitude
towards each other, the staff and fellow human beings

So glad that Nicholas recovered from his fall. From what his brother said to
him about the cricket being played in Brisbane during his hospital visit the
accident must have happened only in early December last year
Seems nothing short of a miracle that Nicholas is where he is in such a short time

The mix of this show from near death accidents to flapjack comment and the
way it's produced are excellent.

The dishy Doc (Graham?) was back tonight
Was a good episode. It's got the mix between bad and humorous spot on. I honestly thought Nicholas as the end was going to have some form of brain injury, nice surprise to see he was fine

When I saw that poor lad who'd been crushed between a car and a cherry picker crying, he set me off too! I just wanted to give him a big hug. I was so glad that he recovered; he was in so much pain despite being dosed up to the eyeballs with morphine.

I also loved that young bloke, Pat, who'd come in with his friend. So well-mannered and polite - no wonder he had no trouble pulling the girls!

I'll be gutted when this series ends. Maybe once Channel 4 realises how well it was received, they might do another series. I live in hope.

You've summed up my thoughts exactly. It is the mix of incidents that make it so watchable for me.

All part of the 'daft/odd things people do' theme this week, teed off with the nurse and the step-ladder, drill and sock thing, Doctor called it 'autopilot' in the case of the chap who got burnt.

I like the geeky/odd things that the staff like.
Malcolm, getting very enthused by Theo who was stuck under the bus, telling anyone who'd listen 'he was bent double'
Last night it was the Doctor with the chap with the torn Achilles, which interested nobody at the nurses station, so they all just nodded along to keep him happy.

This just keeps getting better. I shall be so sad when the series finishes.

As others have said Pat was a lovely lad - and such a good friend. His "Are you sure you wouldn't like a flapjack?" had us laughing our heads off.

I thought the gentleman who sliced his finger on the mandolin was delightful - sad to think of him living alone now.

The Hungarian carpenter at the beginning was great too.

Loved Nicholas at the end saying "We're not that close!"

Despite them getting some awful people through their doors, my overwhelming feeling from this series is one of the warmth, humour and caring that humans are capable of. I am also endlessly impresssed by the professionalism and amazing feats of medical skill which the staff manage to pull off.

Filming for the series took place from 25th October to 21st November

Check the Channel 4 listings for Monday Night/Tuesday morning. There is a late repeat at about 2 in the morning. (times vary each week) and you can record it then. It will be interesting to see how the ratings are affected now that The Apprentice is finished.

Why have I not found this Thread till today....typed in the program name...weeks ago, just thought no one was watching on here...anyway, best Medical Documentary series, I have ever watched.....it's that good.
