So I leave work tonight - 6.15 and head to a bar near Channel 4 in London. A huge black Rolls Royce comes round a tight corner near me with the reg RCD 1. I thought to myself, I have no idea who that could be from its personal registration.

I then think, if it was AMS 1 I would know exactly who it was.

Blow me if right behind RCD 1 comes an exact same Roller with the reg AMS 1 and there was our very own Lord Sugar in the back of said Roller.

So....does anyone know who is in RCD 1?

What was Lord Sugar doing at C4 this evening and who was doing it with him? I imagine the clues are in the initials but don't know what they stand for.

RCD1 is the personalised number-plate of Richard Clive Desmond's blue Bentley. It is also the name of the media entrepreneur's holding company, which sits at the top of a complex labyrinth of UK and Channel Island-based companies.

Richard Desmond recently bought Channel 5, and owns the Express, and OK, magazine, some soft porn TV stations, and a few smutmags.

Not sure what either him or Lordsuralan would be doing at channel 4, let alone at the same time.

Thank you both so much for replying. Much appreciated.

I have to say I don't drive and therefore assumed that the cars were Rollers but maybe they were both Bentleys. I did that 'londoner' thing of trying not to look (too cool for school).

They were to my untrained eye the same make of car - big, posh, four wheels, driver. Both looked black in colour.

Well we will have to look and see if there is a C4 programme where they are both appearing (C4 News?)

But again, thank you so much for bothering to reply and putting my mind at rest.

Enjoy the rest of the Apprentice. Not sure who I want to win yet but love 'You're fired' almost as much as the original.
