maybe - I'll see if I can do some further diagnostics. My internet is working fine and that's through the same router...
As you are on 1.00.13 nothing has changed - The update has not even benn scheduled for transmission - normally this takes a few weeks.

One test you could try is to go to Teletext on channel 986, then press Blue to try to access Jobsite, since this also uses an Internet connection. If you can do this, then the problem is presumably specific to IPlayer.

Well a reboot sorted it. I tried Teletext as suggested and that worked fine so I thought there was maybe a reason to try turning off and on again. Still a bit odd though!

So does the new software cure the desperately annoying subtitles on instant rewind thing?

Now confused, while watching a live TV channel, press pause for 5 mins or so to build a time shift buffer, now press play. The subtitles appear so press OK twice, why would you go back to real time ?

The same thing happens with me, I've never quite understood the "press ok twice" thing.

The first press brings up the channel list. Press it again and you go back to real time, discarding the buffer you've built up.

See the answer directly below yours, maybe yours works like that because you arent recording it and were recording it plus pressing pause?

Even more lost, if you are recording it you can watch the recording using chasing playback which does not have the subtitle problem. Just tested it again on mine, I paused the current programme (Don't Get Done Get Dom) for 5 minutes. Started playback second press of OK does not go back to real time.

All I can say is that it 100% does that for me, strange.

I know you can use chase play but thats totally bugged if you get within an hour of real time too.

I record everything I watch but say Im watching football, ill do that live but may still have to pause it should the phone ring. Then when I start again, Im recording and using buffer.

A bit more experimenting reveals that on my box it only affects101 which is BBC1-West Midlands which was put there using customise channels. Testing the same channel at 963 there are no subtitles. Just tried putting BBC1-East Mids at 101 and sure enough subtitles pop up. In all cases OK twice gets rid

The fact that you have problems using chase play indicates something wierd is happening with your box. In chase play I can freely move from the beginning of the recording to a few seconds behind real time with no issues at all.

Try watching the recording from the media list after about 30 seconds of the programme starting you should be able to do anything within the buffered content. Use the forward skip key to avoid dropping back to the live feed if you get close to the end of the buffer.

As a balancing exercise.. anything recorded on the Panny TV..which is in reality a PVR.. has to be 'WATCHED' ..ADs and all..
as the merest thought of touching any button reverts to real time TV watching..

Thats when it does it, I think its ok when I pause it unless I press ok twice.

Ive never been able to watch anything in the last minute of the buffer since day 1. It might go straight away or it might take 5 mins but it always jumps to live play, then when you press resume, it starts from the beginning again.

Your post said last hour not minute. If you use the forward skip button set to the default of +2mins you can't go over the buffer end as it just stops working. The press OK twice advice refers to time shift playback not chasing playback.

Youre right about the time but you can still get to within under a min using the 2 min skip and anyway, Ive set mine to 1 min.

To clear it up, pressing ok twice under timeshift sends me back to the live action every time.

Getting to under 1 min of the buffer on chase play sends me back to live action every time.

I have never jumped out of chase play using + 2 minutes. As for jumping back to live by pressing OK twice somethings wrong. You could try a factory reset also check subtitles are off by pressing the sub button. Have you used customise channels to change the default channel at 101 ?

It could be something to do with the length of time it's paused.

If you only pause for 10 seconds then press ok twice, it jumps to real time.

Pause for 5 minutes or whatever and it won't jump to real time when you press ok twice. Perhaps.

If this turns out to be true then you just have to remember that once you press pause, count to 30 before pressing play...

Subs are off and I have changed 101 because I changed ITV to get the higher res but wanted to keep BBC1 London for late KO.

I did a factory reset months ago and it didnt stop it.

Try channel 950 if it's like mine you won't get the subtitles.

I updated the software and loader yesterday but now I'm having trouble with the EPG. In the top right hand corner it says "Receiving programme information..." and it takes 2-3 minutes for this to go during the 2-3mins I am unable to select things to record.

Thats normal behaviour and happened on the previous firmware sometimes

select the EPG by using the stored version, I never do it that way buy Im sure someone else will tell you how to do it.

Thats way over the normal time 30-40 secs - what signal quality do you have on the freesat transponder?

Mine takes as long as that and I have 100% quality.
