I've formated a memory stick to FAT32 (using Windows7 - 64 bit operating system) downloaded the update to it. When I insert the memory stick into Humax HDR it recognises it but, when I change device to look at memory stick it doesn't show the update file.
Strange.

The hdr's file manager only recognises the file triplets .ts, .hmt .nts in video mode, .mp3 in audio and .jpg in photo mode. (the only formats the hdr can play back)

The file's prescence should be found by the loader if you follow the instructions to boot the hdr by holding the front power switch in with the usb stick inserted (assuming you have given it the correct name). You can release the power switch when the update screen is displayed.

Have you re-named the file to FOXSAT-HDR_upgrade.hdf removing any other characters?

Yes - I've renamed it. Powered on and held down the front switch but the Humax HDR just starts as normal.
Can't understand it. I renamed it FOXSAT-HDR_upgrade.hdf
Presumably it's case sensitive?
Any idea when the OTA download will be?

The loader is even more fussy about usb chip sets than the firmware, if you can try another the smaller the better. A guess would be around 3-4 weeks for the OTA but could be longer.

No problem with a 8GB stick with mine though.

How long should it take before % increases please?

It should only take a few minutes.

To complete the update. The progress bar starts in a few seconds.

No - before it's finished. No more than 10 secs before it starts I would try and download a fresh copy (don't forget to rename it) to a different memory stick and have another go.

Well mine's stuck on 0%. Think I should give up on this one.
Thanks all for the advice.

Just one thing. I am advised to rename it but it downloads with the correct name. Am I missing something?

The name normally includes the version number which you have to delete.

I'm downloading from here:
http://beta.humaxonline.co.uk/downloads
HDR part.
It shows no version number in the file name.

Agreed it now does not include the extra info. I guess Humax have changed the filename used removing the need for renaming.

Originally it would have been FOXSAT-HDR_upgrade_10015.hdf

It may well do again when Humax put it on the main site (I guess after they have an OTA slot?)

I updated the software and loader yesterday but now I'm having trouble with the EPG. In the top right hand corner it says "Receiving programme information..." and it takes 2-3 minutes for this to go during the 2-3mins I am unable to select things to record.
I had exactly the same issue, but a rescan of the channels resolved the problem.

I suspect that the overnight housekeeping process might of solved this as well. Normally the EPG update takes about 30 secs.

This one crops up sometimes on all firmware variants. Solution is a freesat tune but you don't even need to save the results

Well a reboot sorted it. I tried Teletext as suggested and that worked fine so I thought there was maybe a reason to try turning off and on again. Still a bit odd though!

So does the new software cure the desperately annoying subtitles on instant rewind thing?
Hi All.

I've lurked here a few times for info, but this thread has frustrated me into registering.

Has anyone tried the "Exit" button on the remote to remove the subs?

Also I too have loaded version 10015, and still have loader U7.52.

I've tried it with renaming and without, but it won't change.

There is not need to rename the file on the beta site.
Humax's instructions: http://www.humaxdigital.com/uk/suppo...ategory_seq=65
If that does not work - try a different memory stick. The loader is very particular. Some had had success after reformatting the stick.
