The loader is a seperate update file.

By don't change do you mean the new firmware loads but does not change the loader or that it won't accept the file from the usb stick which Repessac post covers.

afaik the subtitle bug only happens on 101 and when the channel is there because of using customise channels to put a different region to the postcode allocated one.

V1.00.15 is the same in this respect. Pressing OK twice gets rid of them when they appear in timeshift playback

This is from the d/l page, and suggests they're combined,

Application version: HPRSFCI 1.00.15
Loader version: U7.53 / U7.54*

is that misleading?

It loads firmware, but not the loader.

The subtitles appear in timeshift playback, on any channel that provides them.

As I suggested, the "Exit" button removes them.

Yes that's misleading. The loader details I guess refer to the loader that is the current latest. For users there's no difference between 7.53 and 7.54.

The 7.53 loader is on the official site and the 7.54 is the third option here

http://beta.humaxonline.co.uk/freesat-hd

I only get subtitles on lcn 101 in timeshift, the same channel in the 960's does not. Sounds as if you may have the subtitles enabled in Menu/Settings/Language/Subtitles.

Thanks for that link.

Everything updated now (was on loader 7.52).

Before I found the exit button fix, I looked at subs every time it happened, and they were always off.
However, I found that just checking that the subs were off, was enough to get rid of them.

Is there any way to stop it updating apart from unplugging it every night?

If a new channel is added, it was added the 1st time I turned on the machine.

Now I either have to wait 24h or do a manual scan and then delete the dozens of rubbish channels again.

How many new channels have been added that you are desperate to watch that very day?

A reasonable new channel comes along once in a blue moon. Most are rubbish anyway and the majority of changes are the crappy channels messing with the transponders anyway. . The new firmware fixes to some extent failures of some ITV1-HD programmes to record if they mess with the event-ids and of course it fixes the power cut bug.

I cant remember the last ITV HD program to not record and Ive never experienced the power cut bug so for me this is a backwards step.

You do realise that if you go away on holiday and have a short power cut the next day nothing will record till you return ?

Try setting a recording on Daybreak, Works on V1.0.15 fails on V1.0.13.

Also try recording Jeremy Kyle

No thanks!

Theyve fixed a few things, none of which have ever affected me and bought in something thats worse than it was before.

Its good for other people but not me.

Once you hack it you can disable the maintenence tasks. This will kill the auto-update; but also kill thumbnails amongst a couple of other things.

If you're that desperate to watch a channel on that day then can't you just add it in non-freesat mode?

Has anyone on 1.00.15 tried the method that works with 1.00.13, whereby pressing the guide button to attain full repopulation then rebooting which forces the channel updates yet?

If you feel that strongly about it, why don't you put 1.00.13 back on via USB after OTA? It only takes a minute or two.

The box wont recognise any of my 3 USB sticks and it would just get overwritten at 3am anyway.

I'll try that next time we get an update.

I thought it always updated the 1st boot after a new channel was added and that it had nothing to do with the EPG?

Not on previous versions it hasn't. If a new channel had been reported here on DS simply turning on the STB after the inclusion of the new channel wouldn't result in the box detecting it. If however you forced the box to repopulate the full epg, then after a reboot the box would detect it. Otherwise one would have to wait til the following day after the epg refreshed at the 3 o'clock housekeeping.

I never had to do that on V1.00.13. Booting the box after the update was on air brought up the dialogue without any other action.

Strange. It's a technique I employ for both my HDR and HD box, never have they detected a new channel on first boot. They will however detect on subsequent boots should a box be first booted prior to a channel addition on a particular day.

See the post above, same was true for me, it would often do it 1st boot in the morning. The EPG had nothing to do with it.
