No it should be V1.00.15. The loader can't be updated OTA, only by USB. Going from memory to use the combined OTA for the HD and HDR you need loader 7.53 or 7.54 so a usb update of the loader may be required.

Loader 7.54 available here.

Yes.
- Dolby Digital downmix included
- Time recovered in standby after a power failure
- Resolved recording issues if left on a part-time channel
- Channel scan for channels added/removed/changed at 3am
- Postcode Table updated automatically (over air)
- Resolved crash issue on iPlayer content playback
- MHEG improvements (BBC iPlayer, ITV Player, Teletext Jobsite support)

*U7.54 has been released to support changes in the production process. If you are currently on U7.53 there is no requirement to upgrade the Loader version as there will not be any changes/improvements.

My loader is still 7.51, but I got s/ware 1.00.15 at 10 a.m this morning via Menu>Diagnostics. It took about 15-20 minutes to load.

BTW is 7.54 actually the current loader for the PVR? What pluses over 7.51does it have?

Struggling to remember everything and the previous release notes are not on the Humax site anymore.

Improvements from 7.51

OTA updates work with a single cable connection.

OTA updates work when HD and HDR upgrades combined in a single OTA (although users are reporting success with 7.51).

Improvements in the use of diseqc and usals.

As already noted for users 7.53 and 7.54 are the same.

"Dolby Digital downmix included"
How?
Can't see any change
Explain someone! ( - I'm being thick )
............will this help when most notably BBC HD (is by mistake) broadcasting 2 channel DD with flag set to 5.1............this causes problems with listening through my AV receiver

It's for those wanting to use an AV amp without a dolby digital decoder or using an external DAC. It downmixes DD2.0 and 5.1 to lpcm stereo. If you happen to be on a HD channel using AC3 when selecting the option ( Menu/TV Setup/Dolby Digital OFF) then you have to retune to the channel before it works.

Yes - Your link is well out of date - Raydon has now released " Media & File Server Bundle for the Foxsat HDR - Release 3" - currenly on update level 3c.

To re-enable release 3 simply reflash raydons .hdf. There is no need to reinstall the packages.

Yes if you were on v.13. No if on v.15.

But you then only need reapply the ftp patch - all the other software will be on the HDD.

It's all detailed over on the other forum.

If you were on a release 3 version (of raydons bundle) then there is only a need to reflash the .hdf

Thank you, and to the Dr.

So, in short I need to run the OTA, and then install the V3 .hdf file (version from April 7th) via the USB stick ?

I Unzip the entire contents of that .rar file onto the USB stick though ?

Extract the contents of the download to a temp folder on your PC. Copy the .hdf file to your stick. Flash it and you will be back to where your were.
I would advise Channel Editor users to delete the backup file today so it is recreated tommorow. 1.00.15 brings changes.

I manually updated today to version 15 from 13 using loader 7.51. " Successfuly" it said.

I was expecting it to do it automatically at 3.0am as it appears my set up has the "automatic" update option selected. Before starting I went in to Diagnostics to confirm it had not updated. On selecting the update option it said there was a new update available.

Can you comment on this and also confirm that Loader 7.51 is still ok to carry on with ?

See GT's #131 - no pressing reason to update unless #131 gives you a reason.

Basically it

Lets you replay recorded content over a home network to other locations (PC's and networkable TV's for example), independently of what the hdr is being used for locally. It makes the box into a media streamer.

You can transfer recordings direct to a PC and upload files directly over the network without having to use usb.

Using Mogies channel editor you can add channels you can't normally see in Freesat mode (fta channels not on the epg) and set manual timers.

You can add the BBC red button interactive content as a channel so you can record them.

Gives you access to the timeshift buffer file 0.ts which means you can access HD content without encryption without having to use non-freesat mode and manual recording. In effect giving you buffer recording capability.

Hopefully one of the many users will fill in anything I have missed

I think you win a prize for this as well

Except I'm not It appeared to take the data from the USB stick, but now no ftp access is possible. A hour ago with the old firmware and hdf file in place all was fine.

EDIT: 19:27hrs Re installed the original January .hdf file, and all working again now. I think I'll leave it well alone again now, before I end up with a 200 quid brick !

I don't think there is much change of bricking it unless you play around with the loader.
