I’ve often thought this but last night’s was so glaringly in your face.

The task was designed so that hopefully someone would fall at the fact it was a GLOBAL task. Its hinted at so much through the show even as far as when the boys are brainstorming someone says it - then the idea of the regional slag app is proposed straight after.

Lord Sugar really forced that down the throats in the boardroom.

(also I think he was totally unfair about the blurb that was written, it wasn’t that bad (“I’m bored” or whatever) and then he manipulated Jim into the boardroom by saying ‘do we all agree it was the fault of the blurb” course it wasn’t. but that’s by the bye)

My point is that I think they have an agenda then edit it to get that agenda, especially as they did the whole 3K download in the UK then oops only another 900 worldwide. That is fair enough but it just means that we aren’t seeing the whole picture of course.

Editing has always been a bit iffy on this programme, very manipulative!

It happens every year - they are given good advice then ignore it.

Apparently they shoot about 110 hours to get their 1 hour programme.

Well, it's inevitable really isn't it. The editors are working with, say, twenty hours worth of footage. They have the benefit of knowing what elements of the teams' work succeeds and what brings about the downfall of the losing team. They have the words spoken in the boardroom and they need to match up the condensed footage to the outcome.

It wouldn't make very good viewing to see a team collapse spectacularly on a detail that the editors failed to highlight in the task footage. The boardroom has to be a logical conclusion of what we've seen. So yes, they do have an agenda, but there's no other way that could be. I did, though, think the boardroom scenes last night felt rushed and choppy - as though there had been a lot of discussion about other things that we didn't see.

The blurb. I cringed when it was spoken aloud on screen and I cringed when they boys praised it. Both teams appeared to completely forget that their app was one in several hundred thousand. Both teams gave the impression that they were introducing something we hadn't seen before - highlighted by the use of the pun on the word app. It was naïve and amateurish.

Having said all that, I didn't enjoy the task and thought it was poorly conceived. What chance did they actually have of producing something genuinely innovative in the time they had?
