Since we only have 10 episodes left and 14 candidates. Will we have multiple firings in one or more episodes?

I certainly hope so. Watch three of them slag each other of, and then at least two of them going

In one episode in the American apprentice...trump fired all three of them. Hope shugs does the same.

Hopefully Natasha, Zoe and Ellie all get fired for being background extras for 2 episodes. Has Zoe said mnore then "yeh" yet?

The women seem to be REALLY bland this year, except for Edna and Susan. I'm not sure whether this is an intentional decision on behalf of the post-production/editing team - but I hope that they do get more focus as the series develops.

On topic; I reckon they'll have to have a 'culling' of the candidates at some point; possibly at the interview stage...

If not, and if no-one quits, we'll reach the interviews round with 6 candidates. That would the first time. Usually it is 4 or 5 by then.

They can either fire 4 in the interviews, or fire 2 and have 4 in the final (as they did for series 4). So I don't think there's any real pressure on Lord Sugar to have a double firing.

Melody has no spark. Her voice drones on and she shows very little emotion. Bland.

I don't, and I was a woman last time I looked, she has her faults, but she's bright and intelligent, really liked her sidestepping of Susan's attempt to start bitching about Edna and I think she'll go far. At the moment she'd be my top woman pick (allowing for the fact I haven't the faintest idea who at least 3 of them are)

Offcourse, I was bit generalizing it.

Only three of the female candidates have had any kind of screentime, so I do suspect that at least one of the others will turn out to have some business savvy.

I think that was penultimate episode and occurred in two consecutive series. Given the nature of the final episode I don't think the decision to sack more than one was spontaneous, it was probably always planned. (I may be wrong and thinking of the wrong episode)

Interesting in the episode where there was no winning team (the adverts both teams produced were so bad, the adverting executive judging them could select a "winner"), Trump only fired one person.

The only genuine double firing I can recall is the "white trash" one, where a contestant described himself (in a humouress way) as 'white trash'. Trump fired him for this and not his performance in the task where someone else on his team ws fired.

I would like it if Lord Sugar did have the flexibility to fire two people if there performance deserved it. However it could mess up the "schedule" is people leave early.

Also in the episode where someone quit, Trump didn't fire anyone else. Normally I think they would have done, as in the "white trash" case.

(In fact, I did wonder if the resignee had got it right. It seemed clear she was going to be fired regardless, and she could see it coming, and that's part of why she quit. It seemed quite possible that her leaving would lead to another person on her team getting fired as well, who would have been safe if she'd waited. They were lucky that didn't happen.)

That was the week before soap dopes, in the episode "Trouble is Brewing". As I recall although the Verna did quit (during the task) Danny was fired at the boardroom (the wannabee hippy with the guitar).

It was Danny who supported Verna before the task began and convinced her to stay offering her "quiet time", "love" and "support" much to the majority of his teams annoyance who thought that you did not do this in a 'dog eat dog' business environment.

(Thanks to wiki for the names)

I was referring to episode 3 of series 6, "Hollywood Walk of Shame", when Michelle quit.

Sugar can and has had multiple firings in the past. He's also had people quit, and still fired someone. The format has a lot of flexibility. We can reach the interviews round with up to 6 candidates, or as few as 3, and still cope. So there could be 3 double-firings, or a triple-firing and someone quitting, etc.

Sorry.

I can't recall that episode, although I have seen them all. Series 6 was a bit of a bore, I may have fallen asleep.

The team was split in two because the other team won immunity for the week.

She was a terrible PM and they lost, instead of being fired she quit.

Don't worry. No need to be defensive. Calm down dear.

She is pretty darrrrn bland... in that she is boring, generic, by-the-book, etc. As a person I'm sure she has the propensity to be nice, on occasion, when no one is looking. I just find her to be a bit dull.... Where as Susan is chatty to the point of quirkyness and Edna is super aggressive, 'how on earth did she become a psychiatrist' mental; both are vastly more interesting.

EDIT:
Oh and bland;
— adj
1. devoid of any distinctive or stimulating characteristics; uninteresting; dull: bland food

How does that tie in with people knowing who you are or not? Melody is bland... not a non-entity!

On contrary, I'm probably more interested in her out of all the contestants (including the boys).

She is clearly polarising so obviously some are not going to find any redeeming qualites in her whereas the few, (like me) do find her (for whatever reason) quite engaging. Being annoyed about a candidate's voice and how self-absorbed they are is pretty much territory with a show like this and, to be honest, her flaws are no more and no less than most of the people that have appeared on this show (from my view-point anyway). She hasn't done anything malicious yet so is not yet on par with some of the so called candidate-legends of Apprentice history.

And the whole 'only boys will like her and girls won't' line is so old, really. I'm sure there are plenty of guys watching this year that won't like her (for both physical appearance and business reasons) and some women that will.
