eek what if the silents are trying to grow a timelord so they need the doctor's dna to implant into amy to make the girl, hence the strange lady who seems to be nursing her at some future point? and the doc then arranges for himself to get killed and torched in the future in order to avert that from happening hence the maybe baby thing going on now when present and future seem to be kind of going on side by side?

I agree with the majority of posters, this is not Eastenders and if the child is the Dr's and Amy's it has been genetically implanted and not by the traditional method. Perhaps the silence got hold of the DNA sample taken by the medical hologram from the pirates episode, took some of Amy's DNA, put it all in the adapted spacesuit and cooked up a human/Timelord child to operate their time craft...

OK so what if the child is the baby of the Doctor and Rose from when she had consumed the power of the tardis.

About the Doctor and Amy theory : Rory did get erased from existence. The way that's supposed to work is that history gets rewritten without Rory. So in the rewritten history when Amy corners the Doctor in her bedroom, the Doctor wouldn't have a Rory to push her on to. And Amy would be more single than Rose was. It could happen.

Of course Big Bang 2 is supposed to make all that unhappen along with all of season 5 ( I think, maybe?).

I think people need to remember that at the end of the day this is a family show, and having a married woman have a baby with a guy that isn't her husband isn't exactly family friendly. Either is 'They had sex and forgot about it'. A little bit too dark for Dr. Who methinks....

Who the child is, I don't know, but to answer the OP no I don't think the Doctor has been giving Amy one as it was so eloquantly put!!
